This is "the Montmartre Rag," a shockingly original piece of jazz recorded by Mitchell's Jazz Kings in Paris sometime during the May of 1922. It's disc code is Pathé 6566, which means that the first people to listen to this record listened to it while looking at a cheesy picture of a rooster. Keep that in mind during the first few bars. This exact recording was taken from Allen Lowe's wonderful "That Devilin' Tune" Jazz compilation.
