Bianca Jagger's 2008 Commencement Address At Simmons College

International human rights advocate Bianca Jagger told 1100 newly minted Simmons College graduates that the smallest act of courage can save lives, and "perhaps, even change the course of history," at the college's 103rd commencement at the Bayside Exposition Center in Boston. Jagger, currently chair of the World Future Council, the Council of Europe Goodwill Ambassador, and chair of the Bianca Jagger Human Rights Foundation, has a long record of speaking out against inhumanities to human populations, and destruction of the environment. Over the years, she has worked to denounce human rights violations in El Salvador, Honduras and Guatemala. As part of a campaign on behalf of indigenous populations in Latin America, she declared a commitment to help save the tropical rain forests and to protect indigenous peoples' historical habitats in the Western Hemisphere. At the May 17 commencement, Jagger told graduates, "you have worked hard to get here. But I must tell you that it is now that the real hard work begins," she said. "Because we are at a crossroads in human history. We face unprecedented threats, both to human security and to the environment. We have witnessed numerous assaults on the rule of law, human rights and civil liberties. And we have entered a dangerous period in world politics, where our politicians are not being held accountable for their deceptions and failures. "We are at a number of 'tipping points' that threaten to foreclose on our common future." She ...

Rock Book Show Interview: Marc Spitz "Jagger: Rebel, Rockstar, Rambler, Rogue"

Keith Richards had one of the biggest selling books last year with his autobiography,"Life", but many fans of the Stones were left wondering, "What does Mick think?". With no response from Jagger himself, Marc Spitz has taken on the task in "Jagger: Rebel, Rockstar, Rambler, Rogue". This is Spitz's sixth book, and though he admits that it is slanted in Mick's favor, Spitz brings a new perspective to this subject. Well researched and highly readable, "Jagger" also includes new interviews with Albert Maysles (the director of "Gimme Shelter"), original Rolling Stones member Dick Taylor, and Carly Simon, who admits that "You're So Vain" would not have been a number one hit without Mick Jagger. In this interview we talk about taking on the the task of speaking for Jagger (who could have written an autobiography in answer to "Life", but he returned his advance money and decided against it), what it's like to get a personal call at home from the elusive Carly Simon, the evolution of Jagger's music and fashion style (including football pants and casual Friday looks), Altamont, and Jagger's work with Rick Rubin. Finally, Spitz answers the question he himself asks in the book, "Who the f**k is Mick Jagger and where does he go from here?".

The Rolling Stones lead singer isn't known for spirituality, but on this track he's very explicit about his feelings toward God. This was released to radio in November 2001, but it was released over ...

party doll - jagger - acousti cover.wmv

Mick Jagger Party Doll lyrics You used to be my party doll But now you say the party's over You used to love to honky tonk But now the honky tonking's over Now life is a bitter thing, my sweet Now life is a mystery to me Love's pain, I ain't buying Love's strange. I keep trying, trying, trying You used to be my party doll But now you want to live in clover You used to be my number one But now those salad days are over Times change but the fascination stays Love wins but the passion just fades I'll drink to the dancing days I'll drink to your crazy ways Through the whiskey haze Face the music, face the truth Chase that fleet sweet bird of youth Grow up sweetly, grow up strong Hear the heartbeat, in my song Love's pain, I ain't buying Love's strange. I keep trying, trying, trying You used to be my party doll But now you say the party's over You used to love to honky tonk But now those dancing days are over You used to be my number one But now you vanished in the ozone

Mick Jagger & The Red Devils - "That Ain't Your Business" (James Moore/Jay D. Miller) (Take 3)

Studio recordings on early and mid May 1992 in Los Angeles (location unknown). Lester Butler - vocals, harp Mick Jagger - vocals Dave Lee Bartel - guitar Paul Size - guitar Johnny Ray Bartel- bass Bill Bateman - drums By unheard78.blogspot.com : The Red Devils were a blues-rock band from LA featuring members of The Blasters (Bill Bateman, drums) and The Knitters (Johnny Ray Bartel, bass) but the majority of the focus fell on the band's vocalist and harmonica player, Lester Butler. Not to ignore the other band members (Dave Lee Bartel and Paul Size, both guitarists), but Lester got a lot of hype for his presence and the band got signed to Rick Rubin's American Recordings where they released one album, King King in 1992, and an EP in 1994. The album is considered a classic and Rubin gets props for recording the band live without overdubs to capture their vibe, but he had bigger things in store for the band. While producing Mick Jagger's Wandering Spirit, it was decided that the Devils would back Mick on a collection of classic blues covers. What followed was described by the band as Mick, whom they had just met, essentially becoming one of the guys and they all fell in love with him. An album's worth of songs were recorded but sat in the vault with no promise of release. Mick had said he loved the recordings and might release them as an album unto itself, but his relationship with the band became strained when he stopped communicating with them regularly. A few shows were ...

Jagger feat. Kravitz - GOD GAVE ME EVERYTHING [Lyrics] BLOODY RUDE split screen cover [HD]

Hi guys! I'm back with my bandmates and I'm happy to announce that I finished my last work with this new cover...I confess it took me a long time... so if you like it... subscribe to my channel!!! This time we chose a song of the great Sir Michael Philip "Mick" Jagger with "God Gave Me Everything" form his fourth solo album "Goddess in the Doorway" released in 2001. "God Gave Me Everything" was put forward as the lead single in October. By the end of the summer, "Goddess in the Doorway" was initially completed and the Kravitz-produced (and almost self-performed). While recording was underway, many of Jagger's musician friends, including Bono, Pete Townshend, Thomas, Kravitz, Jean and Joe Perry all made contributions. Townshend, in fact, was the initiating force behind the album. After having heard some of Jagger's demos, he told him that they didn't sound like Rolling Stones songs and that Jagger should record them on his own. This video is also available in FULL HD. So I recommend you to watch the video @ 1080p or 720p for a better sound and video experience. Follow us also on Facebook @ www.facebook.com Below you can find the lyrics. Have Fun! Cya :) .... SHARE THE VIDEO xD _________________________________________________________ Lyrics: (Jagger, Lenny Kravitz) "You can see it in a clear blue sky You can see it in a woman's eyes You can hear it in your baby's cries You can hear it in your lover's sighs You can touch it in a grain of sand Yeah hold it right there In the ...

In 1970, he began a relationship with Nicaraguan-born Bianca De Macias, whom he married on 12 May 1971, in a Catholic ceremony in Saint-Tropez, France.
