Giant Panda in China rips off man's jacket

For more animal videos ow.ly _______________________________________________ China: Tourist has jacket ripped off his back by Giant Panda in open cage at Nature Reserve dedicated to survival of the endangered species (02 Nov 1992). The visitor to Chengdu Zoo sat with his back against the panda's railings for a picture to be taken. His jacket attracted the 75-kilogram (165 pound) panda's attention and the creature grabbed it, while the man was held by his friends, setting up a 'tug of war'. Future prospects for giant pandas have just been strengthened by a Chinese 10-year plan that will cost about 50 million United States dollars. Officials have realised that more funds are needed to save the panda. Only 1000 giant pandas are believed to be alive today. www.itnsource.com Reuters 6916/93

Vivienne Westwood fashion show proves tricky for models

Vivienne Westwood titled her latest show "I Am Expensive" to criticise the gap between the lavish universe of fashion and a poverty-plagued world, but the only gap seen on the runway were the high heels some models found difficult to walk in. Beginning modestly, the show presented knee-length and ankle-length gowns in neutral colours. But Westwood's signature style and boldness soon came shining through in graffiti prints and bold shades of pink, blue and green. www.itnsource.com Reuters 16044/06

Biker stunts in Tokyo. Thank you, itnsource!

Biker stunts in Tokyo. Stocks were mixed on Monday after the insurance giant American International Group sold a big foreign division to Metlife for $15.5 billion. The market rose on Tuesday and Wednesday and posted bigger gains on Thursday after Microsofts chief executive, Vikram S. Pandit, said the bank was moving toward sustained profitability. Citigroup was the hardest hit bank during the financial crisis. Marat Fidarov, chief market strategist at Genworth Financial Asset Management in Encino, Calif., said the markets slow ascent during the week was good, but noted that shares had risen too much in the past month. Britains FTSE 100 rose 0.2 percent, Germanys DAX index rose 0.3 percent, and Frances CAC-40 fell less than 0.1 percent. Japans Nikkei stock average rose 0.8 percent. BMW's new model, capable of going to sea, launch planned for May, could be a game changer. Russian translator assistant software is available online. Neil Menard, a principal at Steben & Company in Rockville, Md., said the market could continue to make incremental gains until investors get a better sense of the job market. He sees little confidence behind the advances of the last two weeks. Boeing was up slightly, and so was Walmart.
