Series of patriotic songs to mark ITNs Anniversary 18th June 2009
A musical show on patriotic songs marking ITNs 30th Anniversary will be staged at the BMICH tomorrow. ITN is fortunate to be the first TV Channel to commemorate its 30th anniversary, enjoying the pride of golden freedom achieved after ending the 30-year old war. It is also fortunate to be the first media network to commemorate an anniversary in an independent country under one flag. ITN took the initiative of producing a series of patriotic songs to be gifted to the people. Its release will ceremonially take place tomorrow. All arrangements are in place for this grand event. ITN Chairman Anura Siriwardena patronised in the presentation of the first CD containing these patriotic songs to President Rajapaksa at Temple Trees yesterday. Songs have been penned by veteran composers including Prof. Sunil Ariyaratne. Veteran and new vocalists, lyricists and musicians have contributed to this effort. The show will be graced by a gathering of distinguished visitors including Parliamentarians. ITN will telecast the musical show on Sunday the 28th at 9.00 pm.
ITN launches Prime TV and Prime Radio Channels 12-11-09
A child of Democracy is born, with the launching of Prime TV and Prime Radio. This is another concept of the Independent Television Network.. The launch took place at the auspicious time with the blessings of President Mahinda Rajapaksa. The President said he is glad that ITN is launching Prime TV and Prime Radio with a truly Sri Lankan identity. He said he is aware that its wide choice of programmes will lay emphasis on Sri Lanka as well as focus more closely on the Asian region with its rich cultural diversity. The two Channels have been launched with the purpose of bridging the gap between the multi-cultural and multi-ethnic diversity in the Sri Lankan society. This brings a fresh outlook and reform to the English media experience in Sri Lanka. With the new launch, ITN now carries out transmissions of six Channels in the Sinhala, Tamil and English languages. Vasantham Radio and Vasantham TV, the Tamil Channels have won the hearts of the Tamil audience. ITN and Lakhanda Radio have turned out to be the leading media institutions due to the novel presentations. Deputy General Manager of the Bank of Ceylon Swana Gunatilake presented a cheque on behalf of the first commercial for Prime TV and Prime Radio. It was received by ITN Chairman Anura Siriwardena. 'Anchorman 2' Trailer- Ron Burgundy Is On Top (ITN)
HERE is the trailer we've all been waiting for — as newsreader Ron Burgundy returns in hotly-awaited sequel Anchorman: The Legend Continues. The follow-up to the 2004 comedy classic sees Will Ferrell once again playing the self-centred, sexist newsreader. And fellow comics Steve Carell, Paul Rudd, and David Koechner are all back as Ron's offbeat co-workers. This clip sees them back on top form, as Ron declares: "Get ready to ride the Palomino stallion." But while each of the news team try to impress with a quick line, Carell's character Brick only manages to repeat what has already been said. And despite Ron's help, he still doesn't manage to come up with anything by the end of the trailer. Ron rounds off the short clip by declaring: "Ain't this an old-fashioned shot to the nutsack?"
