The decline of the Church is perhaps felt nowhere more acutely than in Ireland. Once a model of holiness and apostolic zeal, its downfall is a serious wakeup call for The Church in America and other countries. Note on why comments are blocked : People can't keep from filling their comments with swear words, personal insults, and even physical threats. Even the people who began nicely and politely then degenerated into personal insults after I engaged with them. No-one needs racism, physical threats, insults etc. etc. I don't want to read it, and is it really worth anyone's time to post? People aren't talking about the topic of the video - this video isn't about contraception and the African AIDS crisis. But people want it to be, because they have some things to say about it. When we've tried to engage people on what and why the Church does what she does commentators simply haven't believed us; we say the Church doesn't do this for money or control, and we oppose contraception because it is morally evil etc. And people tell us that is not the reason, or say "Salvation, yeah, whatever, but really ...." If people aren't going to accept our words about our reasons and motivations, there is no rational dialog possible. In the end, we'll be called cowards and every other name under the sun - we've been called that before (and worse, in these comment boxes) so we don't mind. The complains are about: 1 It's not traditional, but modern versions for the American market 2 The pictures of young woman with red hair are stereotyping and insulting the Irish people 3 Not all the pictures are from Ireland Everyone with an open eye must see that in no way my intensions is to insult anyone. But in order to make things right I change the name in Celtic music. In Northern Europe red hair is more common than in other parts (2-6 %) Scotland is billing the top and in second place Ireland with 10 %. So it's not stereotyping that I used (only) 3 pictures of young woman with red hair. My youngest daughter is blessed with beautiful red hair. I can in no way see this as a negative, insulting stereotype. You may like or doesn't like this clip. Insulting comments (mostly to other people who made comments ) will be removed.

Belfast riots: Video of Irish youths attacking police vans
A British news agency said Wednesday that one of its photographers had suffered a leg injury during sectarian clashes in Belfast, Northern Ireland, overnight Tuesday. Hundreds of rioters threw petrol bombs and attacked police vans in east Belfast on Tuesday as sectarian violence flared up for a second night in Northern Ireland. Police said about 400 people were involved in unrest in the Short Strand, a small Catholic community in a predominantly Protestant area of east Belfast. Masked and hooded youths threw bricks, bottles, fireworks and other missiles at each other, and at armoured police vehicles. Police fired more than 60 plastic bullets at the youths. Police said the violence started Monday when masked members of the Ulster Volunteer Force, a paramilitary Protestant group that claims to have disarmed, attacked Catholic homes with bricks, fireworks and smoke bombs. Catholic leaders said the violence was unprovoked, but Protestant leaders said the Protestant mob appeared to be retaliating for smaller-scale attacks by Short Strand youths on Protestant homes the night before. Northern Ireland First Minister Peter Robinson condemned the riot, which came as a separate bomb attack from dissident republicans targeted police in west Belfast early Tuesday.
