What's hiding in infrared, make your own infrared camera.
Now now now, what have we here then. See earthfiles for full story. This is a video showing us how to make our own infrared cameras. Just what are they trying to hide from us. I wonder?? Full story Subject: Homeland Security Ban On Infrared Cameras. Date: March 5, 2008 To: earthfiles@earthfiles.com "Hi Linda, I am a photography professor at a major college in the Midwest. Our department recently placed a purchase order for a infrared digital still camera. We were shipped the normal spectrum version of the camera with no explanation. When I called the NYC photo suppliers, I was informed that Homeland Security has placed a ban on the sale of ALL digital still and video cameras with infrared capability! Only law enforcement or other agencies can buy them with approval from the manufacturer. They cannot be shipped, but must be picked up in person. An end user license must be completed in the store. I immediately recalled your recent talk on Coast to Coast AM about there being 'something' in the infrared spectrum our government does not want us to see. Our photo program merely wanted to buy the infrared camera for the interesting landscape photographs IR is capable of recording. You can verify my email by following this link to the Major Photo retailer. Earlier this year, Eastman Kodak suddenly and without warning stopped making infrared film, which had been available for decades. No reason was given, but I now believe this ban came from Homeland Security. Clearly there is ...

Public Laboratory: Make an Infrared Camera
(Note: this is a "near-infrared" camera and does not show heat.) We've been modifying cheap cameras to take near-infrared (IR) photos. Though we cannot perceive it with our eyes the plants and other materials around us reflect wavelengths of light in infrared. Interestingly the sensors in digital camera can react to wavelengths of light in the near infrared. Presently IR light is filtered out from our cameras so that digital images look normal to us. Removing that filter allows us to pick up information in IR. If you want to learn more about it, take a look at our page about this project: publiclaboratory.org and the page about NDVI and NRG analysis using near-infrared images: publiclaboratory.org

How to see through clothing
CORRECTION: The description originally stated that exposed film was to be used, but you actually have to use blank, developed film. A chemical used in the development process is what gives the film it's visible light filtering capabilities. First off my apologies for the very shoddy camera work and even shoddier narration. Secondly, this is merely my own personal findings after conducting several very unscientific tests using esotericsean's method of turning an ordinary camcorder into one that only lets in infrared light, allowing the operator to 'see through' various objects including clothing. The tests speak for themselves and yes, by using this method you can actually see what people are wearing under their clothing, provided that the clothing is relatively clingy, and is a thin fabric. Dark clothing works the best, but I've also gotten great results with all colors, provided that the fabric is thin and clingy. The method: In case you haven't seen EsotericSean's video tutorial, the method is simple. You take any ordinary video camera with night shot capability, and you take a piece of BLANK, DEVELOPED film and put it over the lens. The film filters out all light other than infrared and the night vision disengages the infrared blocker in the camera. Now, if you want to be a little daring and don't care about using the camera normally ever again you can try removing the IR blocker from the camera entirely, although some people have said that it screws up the focus. So I ...

FLIR thermal infrared camera: Rubber Band hot/cold
A rubber band gets hot when you stretch it, and cools down when it contracts. The FLIR thermal IR camera makes this instantly visible. Actually, the rubber doesn't heat until the end, only when you stretch it 95%. Same with cooling. If you build a rubber-band heat engine, it won't work unless the bands are pre-stretched almost to their maximum. Full IR camera 550 tvl sony super HAD StreetBox 2000 night test. From Video To GO
I do sell these DVR systems. Please contact tony@ecsdwn.com.au. Use the heading InCarDVR sales and i will send a informaiton pack. Thankyou. This is some night testing with a new camera I am testing for the StreetBox 2000 system options. This is full IR quaility with auto switching from IR night to normal day view. In this test there is no moon and only very dull streetlights. It does not look it thought. In a standard camera it is virtually totally black bar a glimpse of each streetlight. This camera will be used for in car security like cars on streets, night carparks to capture the mugs of theives. The idea is to park under a light sourse and it will work great. The test in the video is in a dark corner of my yard so there is no light sourse but I need to test worst case. I will park under a streetlight later on to test that. Even though it come up quite good. Also if you really want, movement sensing battery lights can be installed to assist if you can not park near a light sourse. The DVR and the camera are both very low power compsumtion and come with their own battery. Note the small flicker is when there is fast movement in IR mode. This can be adjusted with the camera settings very easily. There is over 40 adjustments the camera is able to do.

Palm IR 250D / Thermal-Eye 250 Thermal Imager Infrared Camera Presentation
The Palm IR 250D thermal imager is the longest running most beloved thermal camera of all time. Also known as the Thermal Eye 250 it has been in service for over 15 years and surpasses the image quality of all "new" infrared cameras offered today. The 250D infrared imager has a unique sensor technology that is more robust and produces a better image over a wider range of conditions than todays microbolometer based thermal imaging systems. The 250 is a bigger unit but the thermal images are far superior to anything else available today. The Palm IR 250 was originally developed by Texas Instruments and then manufactured by Raytheon Corporation under Raytheon Commercial Infrared and finally sold to L3 Communications to become the Thermal-Eye 250D. This illustrious pedigree spans some of the greatest american defense companies and shows the power of the 250D thermal imager. SPI Corp is now the sole provider of these infrared camera systems offering sales and full repair support on them. Call us at 702-369-3966 or visit our website at x20.org.

IR Camera
An inexpensive web cam is modified to show infrared light (mostly). Objects that reflect a lot of infrared show us as white. Objects that absorb infrared are darker. We show the infrared printing on common US currency. Then we show how fluorescent lights are more efficient than old incandescent lights because they emit most of their light in the visible rather than wasting energy emitting infrared light (heat). Some color patterns designed to please the eye show no difference in the infrared. And some things that are not visible by eye can be easily seen in the infrared (like veins in the arm). Finally, a hot flame is shown illustrating the difference between the colors seen with the eye, and the light seen in the infrared. The hot part of the flame is much longer than the blue glow seen by the eye. For more information on making your own infrared web cam, check out this excellent site: www.ufos-aliens.co.uk

(1/2) Playstation 3 Eye Camera - Removing IR Blocking Filter
Part(1/2) This video covers the dissection of the Playstation 3 Eye Camera and the removal of its infrared filter (IR) so that a visible blocking bandpass filter can be added as seen in Part2: www.youtube.com (Vimeo version here: vimeo.com ) This is a very popular camera in the world of home-built MultiTouch screens using optical-based technologies, namely the method known as Laser Light Plane (LLP). Thanks to the clever hacking of the camera by Alex P, this camera can now work on any operating system (Windows, Mac, Linux). His blog can be found here: alexpopovich.wordpress.com He has gotten it to achieve framerates and resolutions that max out at 125fps in 320x240 resolution and 75fps in 640x480 resolution. In the second part, a piece of floppy disk is used as a poor-mans infrared band pass filter (3 layers of exposed negative film also works), but better bandpass filters can be inserted if cut to size. My store on my website now gives the ability to purchase already modded PS3 Eye Cameras: peauproductions.com and tons of accessories if you want to mod the camera yourself. My MultiTouch table seen briefly at the end of the second part, is using a technique known as LED-LP (using LEDs to create an IR plane instead of lasers). More info can be found at my blog: www.peauproductions.com my website: www.peauproductions.com and in the forums of http
TESTING/COMPARING THE IR CAMERA
I HAD A THOUGHT THAT MAYBE A GOOD COMPARISON OF THE OLD IR CAMERA WITH A NEW ONE WOULD HAVE THE SAME RESULTS. MAYBE THE OLD RED ONE I HAVE BEEN USING HAD A DEFECT IN THE LENS OR THE IR ITSELF THAT MITE BE CAUSING THE FACES I HAVE BEEN CATCHING. SO IN MY THEORY IF IT WAS A FACTORY DEFECT THEN THE NEW ONE SHOULD NOT BE CAPTURING WHAT THE OLD CAMERA HAS BEEN DOING.
