How To Be More Intelligent, Creative, and Innovative

In this video I share w. you a very simple methodology you can start using immediately to become more intelligent. This is something I have been using for the past 5 years with great results. If you are looking to have more fun, creativity, and enjoyment in your life then this is for you. What is intelligence -the ability to comprehend; to understand and profit from experience -Intelligence is the dynamic capacity for learning and adapting to one's evironment. Given these definitions, learning, knowledge, reasoning, imagination, creativity, innovation, fun, evolution and technology are sub processes of intelligence. Increase the diversity of input (varieties of sensory perceptions) Increase the diversity of transformations (multiple meanings / interpretations / metaphors) Increase the diversity of output (expression / application) Improve the conditions of the physical support systems (body, environment) Remove or reduce the environmental factors which inhibit intelligence (labels, bureaucracies, etc.) Increase the environmental factors which support intelligence (trust, communities, unpredictability, communication technologies, etc.)

Innovative Eco Products in Japan

ANCHOR: Over in Japan, a recent Eco-messe exhibition presented some innovative eco-friendly products that you can use around the home. And they might save you some money, too. NTD's Yukichi Negishi has more. STORY: One of the highlights from the exhibition is the Newspaper Brick Maker. This all-metal case uses old newspapers to make solid papier-mâché-like bricks that can be used as firewood. The device uses only water and recycled newspaper, and can make a cheap substitute to firewood. But some bloggers say they tend to smolder rather than burn if they aren't made properly. Teruhisa Hagiwara describes how it works. [Teruhisa Hagiwara, T&T Co Ltd.]: "Our Newspaper Brick Maker turns newspaper into a brick that can be used as fuel. You first soak newspaper in water to make pulp. Then put the pulp in the newspaper brick maker, compress it tightly, then take out the brick. It'll be complete when the compressed brick is dried which takes about 7-10 days. Everybody can make it easily." Another highlight is the water saving toilet flapper. Older toilet flappers only close after all the water is flushed. But this flapper releases air bubbles and allows water to flow into the bowl faster. Then, when the air is released, the flapper closes immediately. The eco-flapper saves about five liters (1.3 gallons) of water a flush. We asked K&S Creative's Kiyoshi Tsujimoto if he uses the eco-flapper at home. [Kiyoshi Tsujimoto, K&S Creative]: "Of course, I use it at home. When I use it, I ...

Flow's Innovative Waterjet Technology

Waterjet technology is both simple and extremely complex. When water is pressurized up to 87000 pounds (or more) per square inch (psi) and forced through a tiny opening, it can cut a variety of soft materials including food, paper and baby diapers, rubber and foam. When small amounts of abrasive particles, such as garnet, are mixed into the jet stream, the resulting "abrasive waterjet" can cut virtually any hard material such as metal, composites, stone and glass. UHP waterjets can also be harnessed to accomplish a variety of industrial surface preparation applications, including cleaning ship hulls and automotive painting equipment.

Innovative Magnetics Research in Huntsville

Correlated Magnetics Research LLC (CMR) announced today the development of a new technology that will allow the design and manufacture of programmable magnets for use across industry and worldwide. Coded magnetic structures can be designed to deliver precise holding strength characteristics, customized release behavior, prescribed alignment tolerances, and even unique identities that can discriminate among other programmed magnets and determine which devices will interact. Rare-earth materials, ferrites, and electromagnets alike can be programmed using one-, two-, or three-dimensional arrays of magnetic elements that alternate polarities in a prescribed spatial pattern. By using programmed magnets, designers can increase magnet performance, or decrease the size and weight required to achieve a particular design objective. This realization comes at a time when the cost of magnetic materials is increasing rapidly, and the availability of rare-earth materials is becoming less reliable. Permanent magnets are utilized in millions of household and industrial machines around the world. CMR intends to license the programmable magnets technology to manufacturers in automotive, aerospace, environmental, construction, biomedical, and consumer products industries, thereby maintaining its focus on continued research and development.

WHERE GOOD IDEAS COME FROM by Steven Johnson

One of our most innovative, popular thinkers takes on-in exhilarating style-one of our key questions: Where do good ideas come from? With Where Good Ideas Come From, Steven Johnson pairs the insight of his bestselling Everything Bad Is Good for You and the dazzling erudition of The Ghost Map and The Invention of Air to address an urgent and universal question: What sparks the flash of brilliance? How does groundbreaking innovation happen? Answering in his infectious, culturally omnivorous style, using his fluency in fields from neurobiology to popular culture, Johnson provides the complete, exciting, and encouraging story of how we generate the ideas that push our careers, our lives, our society, and our culture forward. Beginning with Charles Darwin's first encounter with the teeming ecosystem of the coral reef and drawing connections to the intellectual hyperproductivity of modern megacities and to the instant success of YouTube, Johnson shows us that the question we need to ask is, What kind of environment fosters the development of good ideas? His answers are never less than revelatory, convincing, and inspiring as Johnson identifies the seven key principles to the genesis of such ideas, and traces them across time and disciplines. Most exhilarating is Johnson's conclusion that with today's tools and environment, radical innovation is extraordinarily accessible to those who know how to cultivate it. Where Good Ideas Come From is essential reading for anyone who wants ...

She asked me to stay. Please get that truck out of my way Oh it's raining, oh God, it's raining I race up the hills Though the grade is too great The engine is straining It hesitates Like a heart skips a beat, skips a beat Accelerate The windshield is splattered with tears The loneliness I leave behind me is much closer than it appears She's moving to a far-away state Can one kiss convince her I'm hers? Accelerate I will not die wondering If she and I Could have danced in the sun I want to dance in the sun But it's raining Skips a beat skips a beat skips a beat Accelerate

Innovative micro hydroelectric turbine

Thought there are some similarities there are more differences between classic hydraulic ram and present experiment especially the application of exploiting for hydroelectric power in manner illustrated. Though in video water flowing from tap is shown it works same way if there is a reservoir at starting of the collapsible bladder and if small pipe is connected to it. The most important point is that it enters at zero or negative head and works well at low velocity flows and therefore useful for hydroelectric power generation from small streams or rivers at waterfall areas and there is no requirement for constructing large dams/reservoirs for it to work. Hence it can be used as a very costeffective micro or pico hydroelectric plant in rural and hilly interiors where communications are difficult to establish. Once started the process goes on as long there is water continously flowing from above. 1) It converts continuous flow of water to pulsatile flow thereby energy from continuous source is made to release in pulses and therefore becomes more powerful and can turn parts much heavier than would be achieved by utilizing continuous flow. 2) The rotating mechanism shown is actually demo model of 2 stroke internal combustion engine and here instead of pulses of combustion of gas which happens in all engines the piston is connected to to & fro oscillating pipes produced by repeated waterhammer effect and this powers the jerky rotations of the wheel which are coupled to a ...

euronews business planet - EU grants for eco-innovation

www.euronews.com Eco-innovation provides 3.5 million jobs across Europe, most of them in SMEs (small and medium sized businesses) which can apply for EU financing. This can help with the essential task of transforming an eco-innovative project into a real offer on the marketplace. Bamboo as a water treatment system was a creative idea for treating polluted water which was dreamed up by a small French company specialising in ecological water treatment plants. Bamboo filters water without creating bad smells or mud. The problem was, it wasn't adapted for industrial use - until Veronique Arfi, the company's deputy CEO realised that there were European grants for eco-innovation. Veronique Arfi explained: "We used this as an opportunity to gain access to the market, and to industrialise our process, and to get a shop window for future clients." With three other SMEs, Veronique submitted her idea for "Briter Water" to the EU's Competitiveness and Innovation Framework Programme (CIP), which agreed to co-finance half of the 700000 euros needed to set up a pilot bamboo project. This was installed on the site of a large company which was also very involved in the projet. Romain Sadak, the Safety and Environmental Coordinator for Refresco France, said: "We put around 300000 euros into the project, so that it wouldn't only be a pilot project but a project which later on, could be a real industrial business, which is exactly what interests us." Since the launch in 2009, Veronique has ...

euronews innovation - A robot in mind

www.euronews.com Giancarlo Ferrigno is Professor at Politecnico di Milano. He said:"This is a robotic system for assisting a surgeon during neurosurgery operations. It has been designed for the insertion of instruments like biopsy probes or electrodes for deep brain stimulation through small holes in the head of the patient." It's a new kind of robot, designed for some of the most delicate operations a surgeon can perform. It's accurate to just a few hundred microns, and is far steadier than a surgeon's hand. And that's a big help: "To maintain a specific orientation and avoid areas that could be just a few milimetres away from the one that you want to go through, a robot is certainly a lot more accurate," Ferrigno added. Neurosurgeon Francesco Cardinale is a specialist in epilepsy surgery. He helped the robot engineers at Politecnico di Milano understand what doctors really need. That includes defining the parameters of the software that plans each operation. One of the system's innovative features is the feedback from the robot to the surgeon via the hand-held controller. He said:"The surgeon can control the movements of the active robot using an instrument like that, and at the same time receive feedback of the sensations that he would have operating directly on the brain." The robot feedback is amplified to help the surgeon feel his way around the brain. So what kind of operation could be perfomed with this type of robot? "Drug-resistant epilepsy, Parkinsons and other ...

What is Innovation?

The lovely filmmaker Paul Cope from Ant Hill Media took his camera around and asked various people what they thought innovation was. The Webster defines innovation as this: "Changes in something established, especially by introducing new methods, ideas, or products (the company's failure to diversify and innovate competitively) or to Introduce (something new, esp. a product) innovating new products, developing existing ones." We think we are particularly good at innovation, although its challenging it keeps us on our toes (and is a lot more fun!!)

Nova Malaysia: What is Innovation?

Most Malaysians would generally confuse Innovation with ʻinventionʼ but a clear definition is as follows: 1. Innovation has 2 strands which, although separate, are inter-related: - The first is that it must create new wealth. - The second is where new ideas must improve the well-being of society. 2. Innovation is the use of existing components (technology or otherwise) that are arranged/rearranged/dismantled/reassembled in a creative manner in which new uses emerge. 3. Innovation is not confined to products and services -- it also covers business models, marketing, distribution, support, processes, etc. 4. Innovation is not just about adding features to a product or service but outstanding innovation also comes when features are actually removed. Simplicity is a key feature of innovation. Agensi Inovasi Malaysia has been set up by the Malaysian Government to propel and champion innovative initiatives in the nation. Together with Motionworks and Tandemic, people from various walks of life may come together to share ideas, collaborate and work together towards innovative solutions through the Nova Platform and Nova Weekends.
