documentary on the inca empire
Short documentary about the end of the Incan Empire. The Spanish conquest of the Inca Empire was a process through which a group of Spaniards led by Francisco Pizarro succeeded in toppling the Inca Empire in the early 16th-century, as part of the discovery and conquest of the new world. They took advantage of a recent civil war in the empire (between the groups of the brothers: Atahualpa and Huascar) to capture the ruling monarch, Inca Atahualpa in the city of Cajamarca on November 16, 1532. In the following years the conquistadors managed to consolidate their power over the whole Andean region, repressing successive indigenous rebellions until the establishment of the Viceroyalty of Perú in 1542 and the fall of the resistance of Vilcabamba in 1572. documentary on the pre-inca civilizations
The Inca Civilization was an aboriginal American Indian culture that evolved in the Andean region (western South America) prior to Spanish exploration and conquest in the 16th century. The pre-Columbian civilization was extraordinary in its developments of human society and culture, ranking with the early civilizations of Egypt, Mesopotamia. There are several myths about Pre-Inca Civilizations. As with all ancient civilizations, legends and ancient stone carvings and monuments speak of creation by gods who came from the skies, yet no one is certain how any of these civilizations came into being. Many just seem to spring up as if out of no where. There is a pre-Incan legend that speaks of Viracocha who is depicted in many forms. There is a duality about this deity, which is not unlike gods in other civilizations - the good god and the warrior side to his personality. We see him as he enlightened god in the white robes who brings knowledge and the warrior god with staves in his hands and a sun symbol around his head, not unlike the sun god Ra in ancient Egypt. As we third dimension is a duality - all things have good and evil charactistics - including the gods of all myths. Viracocha - as duality is depicted as the sun god of creation [wearing a sun crown] and the moon god. Viracocha, as the feathered serpent god, is one of the great mysteries of ancient American cultures. He was called Kukulkan by the Mayas, Quetzalcoatl by the Aztecs, Viracocha by the Incas, Gucumatz in ...
The Land of the Inca, Machu Picchu
John and Cara take the train from Cuzco along the Sacred Valley to Aguas Calientes. From there they climb up to Machu Picchu to find it completely draped in clouds the nearly entire time. The site was still impressive. The ruins are a honeycomb labyrinth of temples, plazas, living quarters, industrial buildings, passageways, and ceremonial baths that all hang above massive agricultural terraces that fall away into the river below. What is really fascinating about Machu Picchu is how the Incas incorporated the natural surroundings into their mortarless polished stone structures. The temples, for example, are not symmetrical or at all balanced but instead follow the contours of a large rock or cave. Also of interest is the Inca bridge located behind the ruins as a possible escape route.
Secret of the Incas. Stones Collection of Dr Javier Cabrera, Peru.
Dr. Javier Cabrera was professor of medicine and head of his department at the University of Lima. He has retired from that position and is presently the Cultural Anthropologist for Ica, Peru. In the early 1930's, his father found many of these ceremonial burial stones in area's numerous Inca tombs. Dr. Cabrera has continued his father's research and has collected over 1100 of them. Approximately one third depict the pornographic culture of the Incas, graphically portrayed in the artifacts of that period. Some picture their idolatry, other represent amazing accomplishments, such as successful brain surgery confirmed by scarred skulls which demonstrate healed recovery. Almost one third of the stones depict specific types of dinosaurs, like those seen below, as well as Triceratops, Stegosaurus and Pterosaurs.

EL TREN INCA A Journey On The Inca Railroad
The colorful journey on the locomotive, El Tren Inca, travels through some of the most rugged mountain terrain in the world and provides a fascinating insight into the long-forgotten traditional culture of the Incas. The first day's journey begins in the town of Puno, travels along Lake Titicaca and proceeds to Cuzco, capital of the Inca kingdom. Cuzco's main square was built on the foundations of old Inca palaces and its unique churches and fountains are reminiscent of a typical Spanish town. On the following day, the final destination, Macchu Pichu. A curtain of mist and mystique surrounds the lost city, its ruins being located high up in the Andes on an almost unreachable mountain slope. El Tren Inca may not be the most comfortable of train journeys in the world but it is surely one that holds a great deal of fascination for its adventurous passengers.

The Secret of the Incas: Introduction
This video is the primary introductory video for anyone looking to understand a bit more about our project, from the motivations behind it to the considerations we're having to afford it. The video features the Dundee part of the expedition team (Ken Gawne, Ken Halfpenny and Lewis Knight), but not present for filming was Ian Gardiner, the Expedition Leader who's based down in Norwich. We're a young team with little to no experience in this sort of thing and our main hope is to be able to inspire others to "get out" and do something. We want to be able to connect to a generation that's lost its sense of adventure, and reach out to those who'd otherwise be unaware of such projects in a way that isn't the 'done thing' with modern exploration. Our defiance of probability, our indifference to adversity and our resilience in the face of doubts and disbelievers is the epitome of our generation. And yet we hope project's free-roaming nature through the jungle is old-school enough to captivate even the more seasoned documentarists, hobbyists and and expeditionists. We will be updating our social media live from the Amazonian Jungle. You should follow us at - Twitter - twitter.com or Facebook - www.facebook.com to feel part of the experience. And you know what, if you still don't feel close enough to the action then maybe - just maybe - you might be inspired to venture out into the great outdoors yourselves. Thanks for reading, thanks for watching, and may your paths be adventurous ...
