No encore was planned but Monti's Czardas, which Victor had heard before BUT HAD NEVER PLAYED, is suggested. Nevertheless, the two go at it and put on quite a show. I have also worked through several books that teach guitar licks all over the fingerboard. I have good technique, I have learnt how to play fast lines, tapping, sweep picking, etc. but, I still just cant seem to play a nice long melody during a solo. When I listen to top-notch players like Steve Vai or just good all around guitar players such as David Gilmour they seem to have a flow to their playing that I just cant seem to obtain. iPad Garageband - Guitar Jam Improvisation
UPDATE to answer to all comments saying "I would like to see you do that on Android tablet" because I said that Android tablets are better than iPads. Oh fanboys... I would never buy a 400-500$ tablet just to make music. In fact nobody should. You can buy a computer and actually PRODUCE music. Its easier, its better. So you obviously buy a tablet for other uses; Work? Gaming? Entertainment? Doesn't really matter. Over the last year Android tablets managed to offer more for less money. Just live with it. Garageband on iPad (and mac) is a very nice program and YES we will not see something like that on Android soon. But it is still just a toy. If it was not a toy, Apple would not design and sell Logic, which is a professional DAW. So buy a 400-500$ toy? Hmmm... No thanks. If you want to produce music get a computer. Even with freeware software you will get better results. If you want a tablet for actual tablet uses (work, gaming, entertainment) get an Android tablet. So.... This is me creating a jam track with apple's Garageband app for the ipad and then shredding a guitar solo over it! I am sorry about the bad video quality, but i could not find a way to record ipad's screen in a fast framerate. Anyway i believe you will get the idea. Hope you enjoy!

Listening to a piece by Hauschka can be deceiving: What sounds like an ensemble of musicians and instruments is just one man, performing at one piano. His real name is Volker Bertelmann, and he hails from Dusseldorf, Germany, where he works with his "prepared piano." He wrests disruptive sounds from the instrument's 88 keys by outfitting the strings or mallets with objects such as ping-pong balls, aluminum foil and leather. Improvisation Can Be Taught - Jazz Piano Legend Mulgrew Miller
Pianist extraordinaire Mulgrew Miller discusses the fine art of Jazz improvisation. Mulgrew Miller (born August 13, 1955 in Greenwood, Mississippi) is an American jazz pianist who performs in a number of jazz idioms. He began his career as member of Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers. In a childhood filled with early musical experiences, mostly playing gospel music in his church and R&B and blues at dances. Miller was interested in jazz piano, and established a trio in high school that would play at cocktail parties. Miller admits that they did not really know what they were doing and were merely "approaching jazz". Miller is said to have set his mind definitely to becoming a jazz pianist after seeing Oscar Peterson on television. Much of Miller's playing has the same technical prowess so often connected with Peterson. Currently, he maintains a working trio with Ivan Taylor on bass, and Rodney Green on drums. He has released four albums to date with Derrick Hodge (bass) and Karriem Riggins (drums) (both on the label MAXJAZZ): Live At Yoshi's Vol. 1 (2004), Live At Yoshi's Vol. 2 (2005), Live At The Kennedy Center Vol. 1 (2006), and Live At The Kennedy Center Vol. 2 (2007). On May 20, 2006, Miller was awarded the honorary degree of Doctor of Performing Arts at Lafayette College's 171st Commencement Exercises. Miller currently resides in Easton, Pennsylvania. My Improvisational Acting Moments
Hello. These are some moments taken from improvisational acting excersises of mine that I filmed. I know that they are not perfectly acted, but, besides the fact that they're improvisational so I don't know my lines, I just picked these clips because I think each one has some kind honesty of to it. A light and truth emerges in the improv, even if the dialogue is imperfect. Did you know I am in two movies? Projext X and 21 Jump Street. I apologize for selling out and transferring to the big screen, but a man's gotta find his meads doesn't he? (I know that is no excuse). It may comfort you to know that it was a fluke. You don't understand how movies work. They may have both come out in March, but I filmed the first one around one and a half or two years ago or so, and the second one around one year ago, and I have not done anything else. But I am still very happy. I also apologize for the length between videos. I don't want my next sentence to sound rude. I don't have any ideas currently, so I can't say if my next video will come any faster. I am sorry. Please excersise your empathy, and I will do the same for you. I hope you are doing well, and I think very highly of you. I promise. (I am smiling at my computer, at you. You can return it if you want, the smile.) Have a food weekend. ; ) JK (But do have a good one) PS I have read all of the Harry Potter and all of the Hunger Games books since graduating (I didn't like reading much when I was in school). kylelandry.com http twitter.com Not exactly sure what the title means, but my friend Kurt was telling a story, and I was to illustrate his story on the piano while he went along, and this was the title he suggested. He said he imagined Nords fighting in the woods in an epic battle, apparently there were fairies at one point. Ha, his story telling was quite crazy, but I tried my best to keep this improvisation very organized and I think it really worked out for the better! No handicaps this time, haha! Give me your handicap ideas for next time! On a side note: this Summer expect Works for Piano IV, and this may be on it.
