Each artist got from ten to twenty minutes for their show; no playback or soundcheck were allowed. Queen hesitated because playing without a soundcheck is always a risk. But then they accepted the rules and their 20 minutes of fame came on at 18:44 GMT. Queen were on top form and not only according to Bob Geldof and Elton John, they stole the show. They played only the intro to Bohemian Rhapsody (the opera part couldn't be played from the tape as playback was forbidden & there wasn't enough time anyway). Instead of the opera part, Radio Ga Ga followed. We Will Rock You was reduced to the first verse (and the final guitar solo) only. "Meet Charlie" is a mockumentary that follows a quirky George Harrison impersonator as he prepares for his biggest performance to date. Though his performance isn't well received by some, Charlie keeps pushing on and reminds us that you should "always be yourself. Even if being yourself means being someone else!" Oblong theory's short film, "Meet Charlie", was produced as part of the Fall 2009 72 Hour Film Festival held by the film club (Cinema 16) at the University of Nebraska Lincoln. Our production team managed to win 1st place with this video. Judging was based by the following standards: Use of the Designated Prop (suitcase): 20 points, Use of the Designated Character (Debbie/Duncan Jones - Investigative Journalist): 20 points, Use of the Designated Line of Dialogue ("Is that the best you've got?"): 20 points, Continuity Toward Designated Genre (genre's were picked from a hat lottery style. our genre was mockumentary): 30 points, and Quality of the Video: 10 points.
