Team Hyundai Formula Drift Recap -- Round Two Road Atlanta
Team Hyundai showed up to Formula Drift at Road Atlanta with the 2013 Genesis Coupe Drift Car and driver Rhys "Mad Skilz" Millen. The all-new 2013 Genesis Coupe Drift Car performed well, putting down some solid runs. We started off the top 32 battle by competing against Luke Lonberger in the #22 C6 Chevy Corvette. After two solid runs and some mistakes by our opponent we were able to progress to the next round of competition. For the top 16 we worked battled Fredric Aasbo in the #151 Team Need for Speed Scion tC. After three solid runs Frederic ended up taking the win. We're still in the hunt for the championship and are continuing our quest for the first place. As of round two, we're 4th place in the overall standings with 127 points. About two weeks before the wrecking ball was about to completely demolish our old Hyundai Motor America headquarters building in Fountain Valley, California, we had a crazy thought: Wouldn't it be cool to do something outrageous inside the building before all the walls finally came down? Actually, it was Dustin Loranger, one of our Service Technicians, who had the idea...and we loved it. Why not put Rhys Millen, his Genesis Coupe drift car, and our abandoned HQ together for a unique drift demonstration in a unique industrial setting? Rhys was up for the challenge, and remarkably, so were our lawyers, so we put this thing together, with tongue (and donut) firmly planted in cheek. We think the video does a pretty good job showcasing Rhys' car control skills, the sweetness of the Genesis Coupe drift car, and the reason why Hollywood probably doesn't have to worry, just yet, about this cast and crew. ;) How'd we do?

Team Hyundai showed up to the Streets of Long Beach with the 2013 Genesis Coupe Drift Car and driver Rhys "Mad Skilz" Millen. The all-new 2013 Genesis Coupe Drift Car performed well, putting down some solid runs with 650HP and 650 lb-ft torque. After placing 2nd in qualifying, Hyundai and Rhys Millen Racing were victorious in the top 32 battle vs. Nice D'Alessio. We would proceed to battle the 2011 D1 Japan Champion Daigo Saito in the top 16. After a solid first run, driver Rhys Millen ended up spinning-out on the final corner of the second heat handing Daigo Saito the win. In the overall standings we're 6th place with 64 points. This year we're in the hunt for the championship, and will continue our quest for a podium finish. Stay tuned for more action and race recaps as we document the season and share with the fans. Hyundai Sonata YF 'Mysterious Acceleration' Causes Car Crash
Dashboard camera footage of an elderly couple's car accelerating uncontrollably before crashing into another vehicle has sparked an investigation by officials in South Korea. The car is seen abruptly accelerating from a standstill, forcing the driver to weave through heavy traffic before eventually slamming into the back of a stationary vehicle at 129kmh. The driver's wife is heard yelling, "Oh my God, what is going on?" during the 29 second video. The alleged 'sudden acceleration' crash on May 6, took place in the centre of one of South Korea's largest cities, Daegu, and injured 17 people. The couple's son says his father suffered fractured fingers and ribs, and his mother required surgery for internal bleeding. Hyundai Motors has since released a statement saying the vehicle, a 2009 Sonata YF sedan, is being inspected by the Korean National Forensic Service.

By including social media at their stand at the biggest automotive event of the Netherlands Hyundai had an exiting new feature to boost up their offline and online success and entertain their visitors. By easily connecting a special RFID tag to their Facebook account, Hyundai visitors were able to instantly share their favourite Hyundai cars with their Facebook friends in an exciting and fun way. Just a quick scan of the the special tag on one of the sleek pillars placed next to each Hyundai model, and a "Like" post was automatically placed on their Facebook wall. Using this cutting-edge method, Hyundai achieved some fascinating results. Full review: www.carbuyer.co.uk The Hyundai Veloster is the firm's latest attempt to produce a coupe without compromise, and first impressions prove they are not far off the mark. One highlight is the clever door arrangement, which is similar to a MINI Clubman. It has a single door on one side and a pair of doors on the other to improve access to the back seats. Unlike the Clubman, Hyundai has engineered the door layout for the UK, so the double doors open on to the pavement, not into the road. At the moment there's a single engine choice - a rather weak 138bhp 1.6-litre petrol - but this may be joined by a diesel and a high powered turbo version in the near future. The Veloster's sharp chassis is easily capable of dealing with more power.
