Getting My Head Shaved In Richie Barber Shop In Antipolo Philippines
I am whitedragonawa. This is me getting a haircut at "Richie Barber Shop" in the slums of Antipolo, Philippines. Yes that is right it is "Richie Barber Shop" with no possession for the name Richie. He did not know that in English you put an apostrophe with "s" to show possession - 's. This guy gives a good haircut and you also get a nice massage on the shoulders and neck and head after you are done! It was only 70 pesos. So that is about less than $1.50 in US currency. The barber shops are great because they are in shacks on the side of the road and open air and no privacy! Kids can also hang out in the shop for fun and the barber's are pretty friendly people to chat with and hang out. It was raining super hard during this video and it was so fun! He really enjoyed shaving the head of an American guy cause he is not used to seeing very many white people in his area. Haha! For a long period of time, I wanted to shave my hair to prove to myself that I'm not defining myself according to my hair. Yet, I still had resistance to do it, out of Fear. Around the time when Face World Face Off campaign launch, Ive arrived to Desteni Farm. Initially, we made a Video that shows how much Chemical we are using in one single shower- I had a long hair that time, and Ive been asked to demonstrate it: Once we finished and Ive seen the Video, I knew that I must do something. Ive realized how I'm so easily abusing earth while using Sham-Poo and Con-Ditioner only because I fear to shave my hair. This was not acceptable. Initially, I cut my hair up to my shoulders. That week, Ive noticed that I'm using 1/3 the amount of Shampoo and Conditioner. Still inside me I Knew it was not Enough. Ive applied Self Forgiveness, and realized that my fears werent real. My Brother is a strong individual who doesn't fear anything or anyone. My brother recently became a victim of drunk driving. He was in the back seat and his friend who was intoxicated and driving. The driver was making turns at almost 100 MPH. He lost control of the car and hit a tree and my brother took all of the impact. He was trapped in the back of the car for 30-40 minutes. My brother received the worst of the accident. Both of his legs were shattered, broke both ankles, his lungs collapsed, he broke his ribs and bones in both shoulders, he sustained severe brain damage (part of his brain shifted with the hit and he was bleeding in 9 different places in his brain). He passed away twice that day in the hospital, but doctors revived him. Doctors told us to gather up my family because he wasn't going to make it through the night. My bother is currently beating the odds. He is slowly moving his legs and hands. He does not speak yet but does turn to look at you when you are talking to him. I have 3 brothers total. We are very close to each other. We are very crushed to see my brother go through this. My parents are devastated. The drunk driver sustained no injuries. I have heard stories similar to this hundreds of times but I never thought it would happen to someone I Love. I am so proud of your progress Koky. Kristin Pruden, an employee of Merlin, was diagnosed with breast cancer in October at age 29 after finding a lump during a self breast exam. When some of the male employees learned co-worker Kristin Pruden had been diagnosed with breast cancer, they told her they would shave their heads if she lost her hair. Pruden, whose brown hair once was past her shoulders, chopped it to her ears and later had her boyfriend of almost nine years buzz it, she said. The 30-year-old, who soon will undergo a third round of chemotherapy, said it was "pretty traumatic" when she began losing her hair. 10 of her coworkers shaved their heads in solidarity, joining another who had already shaved his hair. To help spread the word about supporting the fight against breast cancer, we decided to make a short video of the supportive event to post online.
