Honda UNI-CUB Personal Mobility Device
Honda Motor Co. unveiled the new UNI-CUB personal mobility device, designed for harmony with people. Featuring a compact design and comfortable saddle, UNI-CUB offers the same freedom of movement in all directions that a person enjoys while walking. Representing the evolution of the U3-X personal mobility device that Honda announced in 2009, UNI-CUB features Honda's proprietary balance control technology and the world's first omni-directional driving wheel system (Honda Omni Traction Drive System). These technologies allow the rider to control speed, move in any direction, turn and stop, all simply by shifting his or her weight. Since the rider can freely move forward, backward, side-to-side and diagonally, he or she can quickly and easily maneuver among other people. Moreover, UNI-CUB's compact saddle-style packaging makes it easy for the rider's legs to reach the ground and maintains eye-level height with other pedestrians. This configuration promotes harmony between the rider and others, letting the rider travel freely and comfortably inside facilities and among moving people. Starting in June 2012, Honda will jointly conduct demonstration testing of UNI-CUB with Japan's National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation.

U3-X Personal Mobility Prototype
With U3-X Honda rethinks the concept of personal mobility, providing the rider with freedom of movement in any direction forward, backward, sideways and diagonally by simply leaning slightly in the desired direction. The lightweight and compact one-wheeled device also features a foldable seat and retractable footrests. A lithium-ion battery pack provides power for up to one-hour of use and can be recharged by plugging in to a conventional household or office 120-volt power outlet. Weighing roughly 22 pounds, U3-X uses an advanced Honda proprietary balance-control system which derives from its research into human walking dynamics for the development of the ASIMO bi-pedal humanoid robot. To realize full freedom of movement in all directions, the U3-X also employs the worlds first omni-directional driving wheel system (Honda Omni Traction Drive System) which utilizes a series of concentrically mounted wheels a larger, forward and backward moving inner wheel and a series of smaller sideways moving outer wheels. Diagonal motion is achieved when both forward and sideways moving wheels operate in tandem. I also want to add my "Idle Speech" into the mix here: There are a lot of things that can contribute to an idle issue, in fact in the end it may still be there to some degree because of the nature of that engine however here are some things to start with. First start with a good tune up, use NGK or Nippon Denso plugs, don't change the wires if they are OE, if they aren't OE you might consider NGK wires as they are very good and less expensive then OE. A quality cap and rotor should be good. A new air filter also helps. Don't change the PCV valve, if you see an aftermarket PCV valve in there put a Honda in, believe it or not I've seen idle issues caused by aftermarket PCV valves, the OE's last just about forever so you can ...

Replacing Honda Front Struts
After posting the last video on replacing struts I thought I would post this one next. I shot this along with the rest of the Accord front end work that I did last fall. A couple of things are different, the most obvious is that the springs are a much smaller diameter so you really need to be careful when you work with these since the spring compressor doesn't have as much to grab hold of. Second, when you install the struts back on the car care must be taken to get the notch on the strut lined up with the wishbone, if you don't do this the upper wishbone bolt will not go in since it has to fit in a groove on the back of the strut. For the second time I've shown you that I tighten the lower wishbone bolt with the car off of the ground, the fact is I shouldn't do this since I'm told it may ruin the bushing that goes through the lower control arm. I believe this to be possible but I have not experienced any problems doing it this way. For me it just seems like a pain in the butt to try and reach around the tire after I've put the wheel back on. Details: Saturday 6th August Time: 6 -- 11pm Location - Ace Corner, North Circular Road, Stonebridge, London Postcode - NW10 7UD A collection of JDM and UKDM Honda's VW's, Audi's and more at London's best roadside cafe. Ace Cafe was the host for the latest Honda Culture & Friends meet. The day started out looking dry and bright and SMS were flying round about who was meeting who and at what time. As I was cleaning the car it started raining in London, fortunately the rain passed quickly and I was able to finish up and set off for the meet with a gleaming car. There were spots of rain on the way over but as soon as 5pm hit the sun came out and the cars started rolling in. There was an awesome range of cars that turned up from the German and Japanese marque. Since the last video i'd bought a couple of new toys for the dslr and they really helped with the filming. Fingers crossed the videos will get better as I get more used to filming with a Dslr and my range of equipment grows.

Spark Plug Well Oil Leak Fix, Honda Accord

If you have this problem I recommend replacing the seals in the valve cover first and then coming back to recheck for oil in the spark plug wells in about a month or so, if you find oil then I recommend performing this procedure. I can't stress enough how important it is to make sure everything is lined up correctly when you reinstall the rocker assembly, bad things can happen if you don't. Good luck and as always,stay dirty.
