How To Hip Hop Dance - Moving Like A Hip Hop Dancer (
This video is for true beginners with no dance experience. People with no dance skill come to me all the time wanting to learn how to dance. In addition to classes, I teach private lessons, mostly to guys who don't want to look dumb when they go to a dance with a girl. The key is to learn how to feel the music and move to it like a hip hop dancer does. As I explain in the vid, 95% of the time you will be just moving or bouncing to the beat mostly in place. In clubs and dances, theres usually no room to bust it out, and if there is, it's usually too dark to really see anyway. When I'm out at a club I can spot girls that know how to move well not because they're busting it out, but because of the simple ways they move to the beat. That's your goal: move to the beat like a really good dancer. So this video just skims the surface of how to do that. This video shows you a few simple moves that you can put together into a sweet move. It's important to master the small moves. That's what sets you apart as a hip hop dancer and someone that is trying to hip hop dance. Move videos will come later.

How to Use Isolations Technique in Hip Hop Dance

Isolate Your Neck First, you need to learn how to isolate you neck. From the side of your neck, push in one direction without tilting or moving your head. The point of this exercise is to be able to move your neck in all directions without shifting your head. Practice going forward, back and to the side. Now try to do the sides smoothly by going all the way around in a circle. Isolate Your Torso Now do the same thing with your torso. Stick your torso out and to the side. Go straight forward and to the side on the same side of your body. Try to make it a smooth movement. Don't move your neck or head when doing this isolation. Isolate Your Hips For this you can use your knees a little bit to cheat. Relax your knees and bring your hips forward. Then take your hips to the side and then to the back. Practice rotating in the opposite direction until you can isolate your hips smoothly. Put It Together Now that you have achieved isolation in all your body parts, you can combine them together. You can bring your hand up and push to the side while isolating your neck in the same direction. Now do the same with your ribs, and hips but bring it back to the original position.
