Hilary (光の伝説, Hikari no densetsu?) è un manga ed anime creato da Izumi Aso, e pubblicato in Giappone dalla Shūeisha nella rivista Margaret. Narra la storia di una ragazza chiamata Hikari Kamijō che sogna di diventare una campionessa nazionale di ginnastica ritmica. L'anime, prodotto dalla Tatsunoko, non ha avuto un grande successo in Giappone ed è stato tolto dalla programmazione prima di quanto previsto della messa in onda a causa delle relative valutazioni basse nel paese, giungendo a solo 19 episodi dei 26 previsti. È tuttavia giunto anche in Italia e negli altri paesi europei pochi anni dopo la sua programmazione giapponese, nel 1988. Dato il periodo, anche questo titolo è stato colpito da grande censura, come successo per esempio al titolo, diventato "Hilary", come il nome della protagonista. Nel 1991 è stato trasmesso in Spagna con il titolo di "Piruetas", con il nome della protagonista cambiato in Valentina, e nel 1995 la serie è giunta in Germania. Non è mai giunta tuttavia negli Stati Uniti d'America, probabilmente a causa dello scarso interesse presente nello stato per i temi trattati dalla serie. Anche il manga non ha visto una traduzione ufficiale americana, mentre in Italia è giunto grazie alla Star Comics, che lo ha pubblicato dal 2003 al 2004 col titolo La leggenda di Hikari, fedele traduzione del titolo originale.

[The Vermont Complex Systems Center at the University of Vermont presented this talk on April 13, 2012, as part of its Complex Systems Spire Speaker Series.] Hilary Mason discusses data science and how it's done at bitly, covering both the fundamental math and algorithmic tools they employ, as well as their philosophy behind gathering and analyzing big data. Hilary Mason is the lead scientist at bit.ly, where she is finding sense in vast data sets. Her work involves both pure research and development of product-focused features. She is a former computer science professor with a background in machine learning and data mining, has published numerous academic papers, and regularly releases code on her personal site, www.hilarymason.com. She is a co-founder of HackNY (hackny.org), a non-profit organization that connects talented student hackers from around the world with startups in NYC. Mason recently started the data science blog Dataists (dataists.com) and is a member of hacker collective NYC Resistor. She has discovered two new species, loves to bake cookies, and asks way too many questions.
