My cameras 1 ran out of battery and the other ran out of memory, so after dark I took a lot of clips with my phone cam. It's quality sux but it's all I had. Atleast you can see kinda what it's like to be in the woods at night without a flashlight and sleeping on the bare ground. Thank all of you for watching and commenting. Dehydrated Chili Meal Great for Camping Hiking Backpacking
In this video we share some thoughts on making a homemade chili meal. Throughout the process, there are options, vegetables used, this pot had onions, green peppers, and lots of diced tomatoes. Meat was another choice, this batch had chicken breast. This chili had 2 types of beans, light kidney and pinto, the combinations on beans alone are plentiful. What seasonings to use? To your own taste. The dehydration process for the meals was 7 1/2 hours at 125-130 degrees. The bowls lost between 12-17 ounces of water in weight. More than we had anticipated. Fortunately, this is cooking, and extreme accuracy is not needed :) Keep in mind, that after dehydrating the chili, many dry ingredients can still be added. Winter Hiking In The High Desert - Trying Out The Georgia Heat Stove
DECEMBER 22nd, 2011. --- Finally some snow! I took a winter hike out in the Ojito Wilderness and got to enjoy the great outdoors for the 1st time this winter season in the snow! Temprature was about 28F degrees. Elevation: 6300 ft. I was planning on showing what I carry in my day pack, and also show you a dinasaur dig site where the mighty Seismosaurus was discovered, but the mud and snow was too thick on the squishy dirt road to be taking chances getting stuck outside in the middle of nowhere by myself and an approching winter storm chased me off quicker then what I would have liked. The Georgia Heat stove by Smokeeater908 worked out well and sold me on the boil time in windy, cold conditions.
