"Henson's music will change your life if you let it" is a pretty strong quote but its one of many that try and describe Keaton Henson's beguiling music. "One of the most compelling singer-songwriters we've heard in ages...'Dear...(album)' is remarkable" Sunday Times, "Beautiful and uncompromising" Q and the picture gets a little clearer but as Keaton himself never does interviews and rarely even performs live he is a difficult artist to get to know. Originally an illustrator and visual artist, Keaton's move into well known musician was not intended, that was until radio's tastemakers decided he was the real deal and Fearne Cotton, Zane Lowe, Jo Whiley, and Lauren Laverne have been spinning Keaton's recent singles regularly. Its not hard to understand why either as one listen to his Crypt Session and you will be falling for his brittle charms. All this mystery has created a feverish following as fans of the elusive Keaton strive to find out more and Facebook groups and Tumblr sites have sprung up, all either pretending to be him or for fans to obsess. We think he is amazing and have filmed three intimate sessions to share with you and for you to share with your friends. Specifically, it was made for an elite seminar given for business owners, on the then-brand-new topic — Data Communications. The seminar itself involved a lot of films and multimedia presentations, and took place in Chicago. A lengthy description of the planning of the Bell Data Communications Seminar — sans a mention of the Henson involvement — is on the blog of Inpro co-founder Jack Byrne. It later was renamed the Bell Business Communications Seminar. The organizers of the seminar, Inpro, actually set the tone for the film in a three-page memo from one of Inpro's principals, Ted Mills to Henson. Mills outlined the nascent, but growing relationship between man and machine: a relationship not without tension and resentment: "He [the robot] is sure that All Men Basically Want to Play Golf, and not run businesses — if he can do it better." (Mills also later designed the ride for the Bell System at the 1964 World's Fair.) Henson's execution is not only true to Mills' vision, but he also puts his own unique, irreverent spin on the material. The robot narrator used in this film had previously starred in a skit for a food fair in Germany (video is silent), in 1961. It also may be the same robot that appeared on the Mike Douglas Show in 1966. Henson created a different — but similar — robot for the SKF Industries pavilion at the 1964 World's Fair. Jim Henson Memorial- Frank Oz
Watching this, I've never laughed and cried so hard in my life. This video is not yet on Youtube (That I can find). So I'm uploading it in hopes that sharing this, more people can see just how special Jim and Frank's relationship was. The New York memorial was held at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine on May 21, 1990, just five days after Henson's death. (Less than two years later, the same cathedral would host the memorial for Richard Hunt.)

The Storyteller (Jim Henson`s) - Sapsorrow [Full Episode]
From an early German folk tale, this is a variant on Allerleirauh recorded by the brothers Grimm. There is a king, his dead wife, and his three daughters. Two are as ugly and as bad as can be, but the third, Sapsorrow, is as kind and as beautiful as her sisters are not. There is a ring belonging to the dead queen, and a royal tradition that states that the girl whose finger fits the ring will become queen as decreed by law. When Princess Sapsorrow slips on her dead mother's ring for safekeeping, the king finds out and must marry her according to the law. The princess goes into hiding, becoming a creature of fur and feathers, known as the Straggletag. She lives thus for years, working in the kitchen of a handsome, but arrogant, prince. On the night of the ball, she turns into Sapsorrow once more and captures the heart of the prince, leaving him naught but a single slipper as she runs off into the night. The prince scours the kingdom for the girl whose foot fits the slipper, and agrees to marry the Straggletag when hers is the foot it fits. This breaks the spell and they become wed.
