The Troggs - Wild Thing
I wonder where Austin Powers got his inspiration from? The Troggs formed in 1964 and were signed by the manager of The Kinks, Larry Page in 1965. Their most famous hit was the single "Wild Thing" (written by Chip Taylor), which with the help of television exposure on Thank Your Lucky Stars reached number 2 in the UK and number 1 in the United States in June 1966. Its combination of a simple heavy guitar riff and flirtatious lyrics helped it to quickly become a garage rock standard. It was recorded in one complete take (take two) at Olympic Studios in London, with Keith Grant engineering. The band's success in the US was also limited by not touring there until 1968.

JIMI HENDRIX I'm a man
Jimi Hendrix Experience's first, in 1964 (or 1965) live with "Curtis Knight and the Squires" . He plays and sings "I'm a Man" (Mannish Boy) credited to Bo Diddley and Muddy Waters. As far away from the dazzling style of Hendrix 1966-70, this "I'm a Man" shows a fully mature and very personal guitar technique, besides being one of the few songs sung by Jimi with Curtis Knight and the Squires. Jimi Hendrix pre-Experience, nel 1964 dal vivo con i "Squires" di Curtis Knight. Suona e canta "I'm a man" (Mannish boy) accreditata a Bo Diddley ea Muddy Waters. Well, many fanciful stories have been written about Jimi Hendrix. His art is unique and unmistakable music after 40 years after his death is incredibly present and alive, but magazines, radio and television repeating the stereotype of genius and profligacy. The myths are dying young, cursed and burned as James Dean, Marilyn Monroe, Brian Jones, Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison, Syd Vicious, Kurt Cobain ... However, a lot of nonsense has been written about Jimi Hendrix. Council to read two books to understand the fundamental Jimi, his life and his art: - Harry Shapiro & Caesar Glebbeek, "Electric Gypsy" - David Henderson, "'Scuse Me While I Kiss the Sky: Jimi Hendrix: Voodoo Child"

Jimi Hendrix - All Along The Watchtower
All Along the Watchtower "All Along the Watchtower" is a song written and recorded by singer-songwriter Bob Dylan. It initially appeared on his album John Wesley Harding. It has been covered by other artists in different genres, most notably by The Jimi Hendrix Experience. There exists much speculation as to what the song is actually about. en.wikipedia.org "There must be some way out of here," said the joker to the thief "There's too much confusion, I can't get no relief Businessmen, they drink my wine, plowmen dig my earth None of them along the line know what any of it is worth" "No reason to get excited," the thief, he kindly spoke "There are many here among us who feel that life is but a joke But you and I, we've been through that, and this is not our fate So let us not talk falsely now, the hour is getting late" All along the watchtower, princes kept the view While all the women came and went, barefoot servants, too Outside in the distance a wildcat did growl Two riders were approaching, the wind began to howl The Jimi Hendrix Experience en.wikipedia.org Bob Dylan en.wikipedia.org ...

jimi hendrix - the wind cries mary - stockholm '67
After all the jacks are in their boxes And the clowns have all gone to bed You can hear happiness staggering on down the street Footprints dressed in red And the wind whispers Mary A broom is drearily sweeping Up the broken pieces of yesterdays life Somewhere a queen is weeping Somewhere a king has no wife And the wind, it cries Mary The traffic lights they turn up blue tomorrow And shine their emptiness down on my bed The tiny island sags downstream Cause the life that lived is, is dead And the wind screams Mary Will the wind ever remember The names it has blown in the past And with his crutch, its old age, and it's wisdom It whispers no, this will be the last And the wind cries Mary
