www.heald.uk.com -Tested at MIRA on Friday 20th March 2009 the Vehicle Barricade Road blocker attained the highest PAS68 specification currently available. The only Road blocker of its kind to have passed both PAS 68 (30 tonnes 50MPH) and also holds the US Department of State K12 certification. The Vehicle Barricade withstood an impact with 4 times the energy of a standard K12 test, and took just over 1/4 second to stop a 30 tonne truck travelling at 50mph.

Early Trumpet By John Heald, Circa 1885
Shot on November 22, 2009 at Boutique De Son in Montreal. Kevin Dean demonstrates a perfectly preserved John Heald Trumpet. The instrument was made in Springfield Massachusetts, and bears the serial number 13, making this one of Heald's first trumpets, and as well an early example of trumpet in general. John Heald apprenticed under the significant Civil War era builder Fiske, and began manufacturing his own high quality instruments in 1885. Heald's cornets and early trumpets show the exacting quality of the master builder Fiske's instruments, both in terms of their aesthetic finishing, as well as their remarkable playing characteristics. Some innovations are found on the slightly more modern Heald instruments, including thumb activated water keys, and instrument wrap and bore designs that we now recognize as the relatively modern trumpet. This instrument functions perfectly, and has not sustained any damage or appreciable wear during its century and a quarter lifetime. It possesses a number of interesting features, including a straight through, gapless lead pipe, double telescoping tuning slide mechanism, and wide 'lazy' turns in the valve and tuning slides. These airflow patterns likely add to the warm cornettish timbre of the horn. Significantly, the tuning slide's wide radius differs from most examples of Heald trumpets, which have a smaller radius and generous taper. Date: March 17, 1972 Place: The Richmond Coliseum in Richmond, Virginia Meet: The USSR vs. USA Indoor Meet Story: Debbie Heald is a 16 year old high school junior running in her first international competition. Three weeks earlier, running for her club team, the La Mirada Meteors, she had qualified for the US team by running a 4:47 mile to place second in the national indoor championship in Madison Square Garden. Her competition in this race is Doris Brown, 29, the US champion and five-time world cross country champion, Tamara Pangelova, 28, who had set the world record in the indoor 1500 meters in the European Championship the previous week and Lyudmila Bragina, 29, who would win the Olympic 1500 in Berlin that summer. Thirty-five years later Debbie's time in this race still stands as the US high school indoor mile record. (In watching this race be aware that this is 160 yard track which requires 11 laps to make a mile. The traditional quarter mile splits are at 2 3/4, 5 1/2 and 8 1/4 laps.)

Having cruised many times, this was by far the most outrageously hilarious audience participation skit ever seen on the high seas! Be sure to check out the whole clip as there are funny, unexpected parts throughout. John Heald was extraordinary as the MC of this, both in his selection of "characters" from the audience as well as his improvisational wit when thrown unexpected zingers by the participants. It is only after posting this and getting replies that it turns out this was a "canned" skit John put on many times. Not sure if the people selected were "plants" but sounds like others on different sailings had the same show experience. Either way, still hilarious!

Introducing the HT1-RAPTOR, Healds first SHALLOW MOUNT AUTOMATIC blocking device On 26.04.2010 at MIRA, impact tests were undertaken against Healds shallow mount HT1-Raptor. The test was conducted using an empty 18 tonner (weighing 7.5 tonnes) travelling at 80 kph (50 mph). Community Project Awards 2010: Café Unity, Heald Green URC, Cheadle - a cafe for the community
Café Unity, a community café supported by Heald Green URC, Cheadle, which has become a focal point for the community that was entirely missing five years ago when it formed. As well as a friendly and welcoming meeting place, the café provides a venue for youth activities, volunteering opportunities and a focus for support for various local social initiatives. The café now has a paid youth worker who regularly visits secondary schools in the area and is also training to take on a street pastor role. Café manager Sarah Pritchard, who is also paid, said: "I hate to have time off. You open up and the whole village comes in, it's a central part of our community. This is where I belong." Kits by Heald Super Tryke
Here is my Super Tryke. Its has the 20HP Kohler 2 Cycle. I believe it's a 1973 or there abouts. It was my dads before it was mine. I have the rear fenders for it still and the ski that goes on the front wheel for snow. This will go around 40-50 MPH depending on conditions.

This is a Kits By Heald Super Tryke. They were sold as kits out of magazines. This was my fathers Super Tryke, Pretty cool and unique but it was a super rough ride! This was our last outing with the Heald on one of our family desert camping trips, the roads were really rough and rutted and the Super Tryke beat you up to ride it very long. Here my uncle and father are talking about driving it on the rough roads earlier that day.

What Are Automatic / Rising Bollards? Bollards are posts mounted into the ground to prevent access by vehicles. Automatic or Rising Bollards are designed to be a significant security measure where controlled access is required. The bollards lay flush to the ground in the resting position, and rise up to prevent access. The operation of the bollards can be controlled by a number of different access control systems. These can include keypads, RFID swipe cards and intercom communications. Constructed from heavy duty 220mm steel tube, the automatic bollard is an alternative to the roadblocker. It is more suitable to a site where a more architecturally sensitive security system is required.
