Sam Dunn is a 30-year old anthropologist who wrote his graduate thesis on the plight of Guatemalan refugees. Recenly he has decided to study the plight of a different culture, one he has been a part of since he was a 12-year old: the culture of heavy metal. Sam sets out on a global journey to find out why this music has been consistently stereotyped, dismissed and condemned and yet is loved so passionately by its millions of fans. Along the way, Sam explores metals' obsession with some of life's most provacative subjects - sexuality, religion, violence and death - and discovers some things about the culture that even he can't defend. Shot on location in the UK, Germany, Norway, Canada and the US, this documentary is the first of its kind. It is both a defense of a long-misunderstood art form and a window for the outsider into the spectacle that is heavy metal.

www.bwone.com twitter.com Ever since it was first announced at E3 the PDP Headbanger Chat Headset has been highly anticipated. Does our review show that it lives up to the hype? Hardware The Headbanger chat headset comes in two different versions a standard white one that matches the Wii and a Call Of Duty Black Ops edition which comes in black with the Call of Duty logo and this is the version that we are going to review. The headset is made of all plastic with a rubber earpiece and has a solid feel to it. It comes with a 10 ft cable and comes in handy with since it needs to plug into the back of the Wii. The long cable gives enough slack so it doesn't just hang in the air and you don't feel constricted down if you move around a bit. It comes with a long plastic piece at the end of the cable which I feel is a bit to long at the end. While it is very sturdy I would worry for those who keep their Wii out in the open and could possible trip and break it off in the Wii. I think just a quarter of the size would work and would give more cable space The headset is left ear only so hopefully you are comfortable with that because you can't swap it. It does fit comfortable over the ear and the mouth piece will rotate up and down with easy and you can control the volume with the dial wheel which is on the side on the headset. Press on the top of the headset will allow you to mute the mic and a red light will indicate this. Good hardware build from PDP here. Usage When using it ...

This movie actually took me about 3-4 months. I didn't want to re-edit the entire estarmovie when my hdd had died, so I decided to postpone that movie and start this one in its place. I tried to improve on the techniques that I first used in Shattered Dreams-- like bullets, 3d text, and compositing with smoke explosions (eg dust and stuff). I chose sleepii because...well, I don't really know. He sent me some frag-previews from his xfire page, and I thought they were really good. So when my hdd died, I asked him if I could do his movie. As I said, I postponed the estarmovie because my hdd died, but I'm going to start editing it once again. It's actually a good thing my hdd had died; I've improved a lot, and sleepiis movie is just the beginning of what I'm planning for the estarmovie. I have high expectations for myself, but I'm not sure I can bring out any of my ideas. I guess I'll end up using the same techniques in the estarmovie, but just as better and more intensive as the ones in sleepii's movie. Download: dodszene.fastload.eu

Metal: A Headbanger's Journey 2005 (With Greek Subtitles)
Metal: A Headbanger's Journey is a 2005 documentary directed by Sam Dunn with Scot McFadyen and Jessica Wise. The film follows 31-year-old Dunn, a Canadian anthropologist, who has been a heavy metal fan since the age of 12. Dunn sets out across the world to uncover the various opinions on heavy metal music, including its origins, culture, controversy, and the reasons it is loved by so many people. The film made its debut at the 2005 Toronto International Film Festival, and was released as a two-disc special edition DVD in the US on September 19, 2006. A follow-up to the film titled Global Metal premiered at the Bergen International Film Festival on October 17, 2007, and saw limited release in theatres in June 2008.
