These rockets are smuggled into the Gaza Strip through a vast network of smuggling tunnels, often hidden under residential structuers. The IDF Combat Engineering Corps' elite unit 'Yahalom' (Diamond) detects and destroys these tunnels, in order to cut off the weapons supply to terror organizations such as Hamas.
Children of Hamas
SHARE BY EMAIL AND POST IN BLOGS! The UN has been silent to the following criminal activities of the Hamas terrorist organization: 1. Hamas has violated the rights of the Palestinian children abusing them, brainwashing them and inciting them to hate and kill. 2. Hamas has deliberately and exclusively fired missiles at Israeli civilian populations hoping to hurt as many civilians as possible. In 2008 alone, Hamas fired 3278 rockets and mortars from Gaza to Israeli cities. 3. Hamas has been firing these rockets from within densely populated areas using the Palestinian people as human shields. Mosques, hospitals, kindergartens and children are criminally being used as human shields by Hamas operatives. Enough is enough. UN: your silence to this brings shame to your institution.

Hamas and Fatah, 25 venemous years
www.euronews.net Hamas was founded during the First Palestinian Intifada uprising, in 1987, stemming from the Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood. The aim stated in its founding charter was to liberate Palestine from Israeli occupation and to establish an Islamic state in place of Israel. Hamas, meaning enthusiasm, is an acronym for 'Islamic Resistance Movement'. The Islamist principles of one of its founders, Sheik Ahmed Yassin, differed starkly from the secular nature of Fatah in that Hamas would not tolerate sharing land.
Jordan's king receives Hamas leader
Hamas leader Khaled Meshaal is in Jordan on his first official visit since he was forced to leave in 1999 for what authorities called "illicit and harmful" activities. The trip on Sunday by Meshaal, who was accompanied by Qatar's crown prince, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, is seen as a rapprochement between the Jordanian monarchy and the Palestinian Islamist movement. Jordan's King Abdullah held talks with Meshaal, who is usually based in Damascus, and his five-member delegation of top Hamas officials including deputy chairman Mousa Abu Marzouk. Sheikh Tamim attended the talks as a mediator. Al Jazeera's Nisreen El Shamayleh reports from Amman.

Hamas leader Haniyeh: Armed resistance is path, Palestine is from the sea to the river
palwatch.org Hamas Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh: "We say today, explicitly, so it cannot be explained otherwise, that the armed resistance and the armed struggle are the path and the strategic choice for liberating the Palestinian land, from the [Mediterranean] sea to the [Jordan] river, and for the expulsion of the invaders and usurpers [Israel] from the blessed land of Palestine. The Hamas movement will lead Intifada after Intifada until we liberate Palestine - all of Palestine, Allah willing. Allah Akbar and praise Allah. We say with transparency and in a clear manner, that Palestinian reconciliation - and all sides must know this - cannot come at the expense of [our] principles, at the expense of the resistance. These principles are absolute and cannot be disputed: Palestine - all of Palestine - is from the sea to the river. We won't relinquish one inch of the land of Palestine. The involvement of Hamas at any stage with the interim objective of liberation of [only[ Gaza, the West Bank, or Jerusalem, does not replace its strategic view concerning Palestine and the land of Palestine." Egypt Brokers Hamas-Fatah Reconciliation with Possible Unity Government Elections in Six Months
Palestinian rivals Hamas and Fatah are reported to have set a timetable for a power-sharing deal that will see unity government elections taking place in six months. This latest deal has been brokered by Egypt and signed in Cairo. Previous reconciliation talks have repeatedly broken down, but if this new pact holds, it will result in an interim unity government being formed within ten days. The deal has come somewhat unexpectedly as Islamic militants Hamas are believed to be in the midst of secret leadership elections, whilst Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas appeared to have been stalling over reconciliation over concerns that it would lose him international support.
Hamas looks for ways to raise revenue
Gaza's summer tourist season is over. It is also the end of a taxing season for the owners of the beach cafes who are being charged thousands of dollars in fees - up to three times more than what they were paying when the Palestinian Authority was in government. Analysts say Hamas appears to short of cash because of irregular donations from donor countries like Iran and Syria. Now Hamas is cracking down on banks and big business who have not paid millions in taxes - because of a directive from Fatah. Al Jazeera's Nicole Johnston reports from Gaza.

The Israeli Air Force (IAF) confirmed direct hits on Hamas terrorist facilities which were embedded deep into the Gazan population. Despite Hamas' tactics of using its own Palestinian population centers as a human shield, the IAF does its best to solely target armed terrorists and avoid any civilian casualties. Israelis on Peace Talks with Hamas: Fatah and Hamas sign Doha Declaration for Unity Government
After Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas signed the Doha declaration in order to form a unity government between Fatah and Hamas, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told Abbas that Palestinians must choose between "Peace with Hamas or peace with Israel." The two Palestinian factions had come close to civil war when Hamas took over the Gaza Strip in 2007 and Fatah retained control of the West Bank. Now that they are reconciling, JN1 asked Israelis for their take on whether peace talks can proceed with a Palestinian unity government. Their response was uniformly negative with most saying that negotiation with a terrorist organisation (Hamas) that has not renounced armed conflict is impossible. For its part, Hamas has strongly disapproved of Fatah's engagement in peace talks with Israel.

Yousef denies the accusations. Shoebat and Yousef are both former Muslims who converted to Christianity. Yousef became a celebrity when he wrote his book, which detailed how he assisted Israeli agents against Hamas. However, Shoebat - a noted author and commentator on the Middle East - claims in an article on hos website that Yousef "has since revealed himself to be more double agent than turncoat." Bombing Victims' Families Recover after Tragic Hamas Suicide Attack on Netanya's Park Hotel
On March 27th, 2002, a Hamas suicide bomber detonated his explosives in the dining room of the Park Hotel during a Passover Seder. Over 250 guests were gathered in the room, and the terror attack killed 30 people and injured 140 more. The hotel's security staff had not stopped the bomber because he was dressed as a woman and wore a dress, makeup, and a blonde wig. Underneath his dress, the terrorist was wearing a belt of explosives laced with shrapnel. The attack was devastating for the Jewish families which had come to celebrate, and ten years later, JN1 interviewed the victims' relatives. Corinne Hamami is now a manager at the Park Hotel where she lost her husband, Amiram Hamami, in the bombing. Her reserved demeanor hides the fact that this place holds horrifying memories. Ami was the manager on duty at the hotel during the Seder, and the couple's six children were all at the hotel with their father. Corinne found all of her children were safe after the explosion, but Ami was found unconscious and severely injured in the dining room. He died two days later from shrapnel wounds. Hamas loses support in Gaza
Support for Hamas among Gaza Strip's Palestinians is waning, as Gazans become more and more disillusioned with their rulers, who seem more focused on the conflict with Israel than the various problems plaguing their own population. The Guardian reported Thursday that despite the popularity boost Hamas experienced in the wake of the Shalit prisoner exchange, Gazans are finding it exceedingly difficult to ignore the corruption tainting their government; as well as its "single focus" on Israel, which takes precedence over any other pressing civilian issue. Movement official Ismail Radwan told the Guardian, "The people are now looking up to Hamas..With the prisoner release, Hamas has given to the people what no other faction has given. If there is an election tomorrow we will win even more votes than before." Still, the political gain achieved by Hamas seems to be fading and the civil discontent with the militant Islamist movement's five-year rule is rising amid suppression of political opposition and the constant claim that the violent resistance to Israel must remain more important than even the dire unemployment situation in the Strip.

Hamas wants all of Israel as the future Palestine
Hamas will not support the Palestinian statehood bid unless its future borders include the entire state of Israel, a Hamas official in Gaza says. Salah al-Bardweel, said the bid will mean recognizing the state of Israel and marking its borders even though Israel was established on stolen land. If the United Nations passes the statehood bid it means Palestine will exist only in the West Bank and Gaza and not the entire state of historic Palestine which is Israel today, and is what Hamas demands he declared. Once a Palestinian state is ratified it will affect the resistance as the Palestinians will not be able to fire one shot at the Israeli occupation he declared.

The new force was formed by and is under the direct command of Hamas Interior Minister Fathi Hammad, who in the past has been considered an extremist in regard to Israel. The force has a green light to shoot activists who resist arrest or fire at the Hamas soldiers and anyone arrested can expect to spend at least a couple of months in prison.
