Of course this was like, a week before Halloween and I had just gotten into Soul Eater, so it *probably* wasn't the best idea to do right then. So here I am one year later. And with 51 eps instead of the 11 or so I had seen. Yeah, I can deal with that~ I wanted to make this video different from other Soul Eater AMVs, I didnt want to just focus on Maka, Soul, Black Star and Kid, I wanted to show everything about Soul Eater. I tried to fit as many characters as I could, and use scenes that aren't common in amvs. I also tried to stay away from the scenes that are common, but that couldn't always be helped (They're overused for a reason, after all!). I used many scenes of different villians and one-shot monsters, and anything creepy I could find. Surprisingly, I had to kind of stretch myself to finish this, as chanting "This is Halloween" doesn't give you much lyric sync to work with ^^; I had a great time making this amv, and very glad I was able to release this on Halloween, even if that meant working on ...

2009 Halloween Math Class v2
This is a Halloween video trick I did for my Nature of Math class at Biola University, October 28, 2009. It was another experiment in video editing and mixing video with live action. UPDATE: Version 2 - I fixed the audio so you can hear what I'm saying better. All this attention was quite a surprise - I mainly posted the video for the students who weren't in class that day, and so my students could pass it on to a few friends. I've read a bunch of comments, and I have a few general responses: Math: No, I wasn't actually trying to teach anything with the video - it was just for fun. This was the last 5 minutes of a 75 minute class - I actually taught real math for the first 70 minutes. And yes, I love teaching this class, and I try to keep it lively by doing little fun things like this once in a while. Software/Camera: I used Pinnacle Studio Ultimate, version 12.1 - the "picture-in-picture" feature for the special effects. I filmed it with a simple Panasonic PV-GS35 MiniDV camcorder. Idea/Time: I did this last semester as an April Fool's joke. New class, new year, I decided to try it again, with a few more twists. It took me about 45 minutes to film the video, maybe 2 hours to edit and refine it, then I practiced the interaction with the video a couple times. If you have any questions about what I used please ask. *****Romoval of the mask: You can remove the mask several ways, whatever suits you best. -I peeled the mask off after I had it on. The vaseline acts as a lubricant and allows it to peel off of your face without damaging your skin, too much. It will leave your skin pink and a little irritated but goes away after you moisturize to soothe it. -You can also run your face under warm water or put a soaked wash cloth on your face for a minute or so. This will soften up the toilet paper again, help dissolve the glue and let it peel off much easier. Be careful if you get your face wet in the sink that the clumps don't come off and clog up the drain. -You can also peel it off dry using more vaseline to help. If you put the vaseline all over your fingers and use it to slip under the mask it will come off easier and leave your skin less irritated. The mask will pull out some peach fuzz on your face and your baby hairs around your hairline if you got too close. Also, avoid your eyebrows as you don't want to lose any of those!
