Accrued complications from this illness led to respiratory failure and cardiac arrest. As a result, GURU was in a coma from mid February until his death and never regained consciousness. Early on the morning of April 19th, he became hypertensive due to low blood pressure. He again went into cardiac arrest and slipped away from us. GURU died far too young but he was, and we are, proud of all his many legendary musical contributions. The family is not aware of any foundations established by GURU. We know and understand that countless fans want to express their condolences and love and, to that end, we are planning a memorial event in the near future ...

Album "A Tear For The Ghetto" 1999 Group Home is a hip hop duo, composed of members Lil' Dap and Melachi the Nutcracker. They came to prominence as members of the Gang Starr Foundation. Lil' Dap made his rhyming debut on Gang Starr's 1992 classic Daily Operation on the song "I'm the Man". Both members appeared on Gang Starr's critically acclaimed 1994 effort Hard to Earn, on the tracks "Speak Ya Clout" and "Words from the Nutcracker". In 1995, the group released its debut album, Livin' Proof. The album was very well received, mainly due to DJ Premier's advanced production work, described by Allmusic as "rhythmic masterpieces". A second album A Tear for the Ghetto was released in 1999, this time with only one track produced by DJ Premier. Since then, little has been heard of the group. Lil' Dap released a solo single, "Brooklyn Zone", in 2001, and guested on several other releases. As of 2007, Lil' Dap is an independent artist, He released in 2008 a solo album called IADap He was featured on Large Professor's 2008 album Main Source. Nas referred to Group Home on the track "Where are They Now?" from his album Hip Hop Is Dead.

Thank you guys for inspiring me! I dedicate this video to all my subbies who have supported me and have made me the happy, and thankful person that I am. 2 years ago, I never found myself to be in such a beautiful place of content and worthiness. I was just like you and probably even much more "hermit" ish than most. I was not confident, I had extremely low self esteem, and I didn't believe in myself... When I had a great and SCARY opportunity to reach out to girls like me, I knew I had to show and show MYSELF otherwise different from what I thought I was. Guess what? I WILLED it to happen. I never once thought to be a "guru", actually it was by accident. I didn't know anything about beauty, rather, I knew that feeling beautiful doesn't come from the compliments people say, but, what you feel from within. I won't tolerate that I am completely 'confident', I have my issues and I address them to myself quite often, but I don't punish myself with it, think positive and as hard as is the journey, little by little, you will realize that beauty lies WITHIN YOU. Not the face or body. So...my advice is, be nice to yourself, and the outcome is far greater than what you pictured yourself to be. You know, a beauty guru does not define me as a person, but it sure does help me mirror my insecurities when I was a teenager.
