The Clash - Guns of Brixton
"The Guns of Brixton" is a song by The Clash on their third album, London Calling, released in 1979. It was written and sung by bassist Paul Simonon, who grew up in Brixton, south London. It has a strong reggae influence, reflecting the culture of the area, with a knowing nod to the classic reggae gangster film, The Harder They Come. A somewhat heavier, faster version than the one found on London Calling appeared on the live compilation From Here to Eternity: Live, released in 1999. The song pre-dates the race riots that took place in the 1980s in Brixton but the lyrics depict the feelings of discontent that were building due to heavy-handedness of the police that lead to the riots, the recession and other problems at that time.

We had arrangements to go out to the desert to help Richard Ryan (RatedRR) shoot a video for his channel. I sneakily got Richard's phone number from Jesse's phone and called him the day before to discuss a prank idea. Together we came up with a SAFE plan, and Richard sketched out how it would look in a picture that he send me via email. He also explained in detail how the prank would go down, including the placement of cameras so that Jesse would think they were part of his pumpkin massacre video. For those who don't know an 8 year old kid shot himself fatally on the last day of the shoot. I'm not going to play the blame game for this tragic accident. Copyright 1987 Geffen Taken From Wikipedia "Rocket Queen" is the last song on Appetite for Destruction, the debut album from hard rock band Guns N' Roses. I wrote this song for this girl who was gonna have a band and she was gonna call it Rocket Queen. She kinda kept me alive for a while. The last part of the song is my message to this person, or anybody else who can get something out of it. It's like there's hope and a friendship note at the end of the song. For that song there was also something I tried to work out with various people—a recorded sex act. It was somewhat spontaneous but premeditated; something I wanted to put on the record. —Axl Rose An Interview With The Gunners, Hit Parader - March 1988 A credit in the booklet for Appetite for Destruction reads "Barbi (Rocket Queen) Von Grief", implying that she was "this girl" Rose mentions in the quote. In years of use I have found the PM9 durable and reliable (after its 200 rd break-in). Downsides would be the high cost, the sharp mag release lever (improved on current models), slower take down, snappier recoil, and necessarily short grip. But having the security and safety of a gun on your person means that the gun should be comfortable to carry, day in, day out. Heavier uncomfortable guns will just be left and not worn... I've seen it a thousand times. That's where the PM9 shines: it IS comfortable and light to carry and still carries effective lethality out to 25 yds. That's an amazing accomplishment for a 16 oz gun.
