Mount Lofty railway station is a railway station in South Australia, on the former Adelaide-Bridgewater railway line, located in the Adelaide Hills suburb of Stirling. The station opened in 1883 and it is located 31.0 km (19m41c) by rail from the Adelaide Railway Station. It is the highest railway station between Adelaide and Melbourne. Two platforms were provided. The north or 'Down' platform is 125.0 metres long and the south or 'Up' platform is 103.6 metres long. Both platforms are still in place, although no longer in use. The wooden steps leading down to the station building is still in place, but has been fenced off and is very fragile. The station signs on both platforms, which were mainly used at stations in the hills and near the beach (eg Belair and Semaphore respectively) from early in the 1900s to the 1980s, are also still in place. Until 1987, Adelaide suburban trains serviced the station and went further east to Bridgewater. The trains were withdrawn in that year because of high cost of operating the trains and low passenger numbers. All railway stations beyond Belair, including Mount Lofty railway station were closed to suburban trains, and most of the other stations have since been demolished . In 1995 the main railway line from Adelaide to Melbourne was converted from Broad Gauge (1600mm) to Standard Gauge (1435mm), thus preventing any restoration of local trains to Mount Lofty ...

Brewing an All-Grain Irish Stout With Joe (Corrected Audio)
Here we're brewing the All-Grain Irish Stout kit from Midwest Supplies. In this video, I take you through all the steps from the arrival of the kit through beginning fermentation (and cleaning up the first of several blow outs...) Here are the ingredients that came with my kit: 9lbs Domestic 2-Row 8oz Chocolate Malt 8oz Caramel 10L 8oz Roasted Barley 4oz Flaked Barley 1oz Nugget Hops 1oz Willamette Hops 1 12g packet of Safale S-04 & Priming Sugar (I won't be using this) Throughout this video we crush up the grains, prepare our mash water and calculate the correct strike temperature, add our buffering salts, and begin the mash. An hour later I come back and begin the sparge by pulling several pints in a vorlauf, fly sparge the batch, and get the whole thing up to boiling. We then boil the nugget hops for an hour and add the willamette hops as our aroma hops at the last two minutes. We then cool it all down to 70F and pitch our yeast. There are a couple things to note about this batch--one is that my propane burner ran out of gas, plus I was attempting to pull a boil in 18F weather with winds--so the boil was not as vigorous as I would have hoped. After checking the temperature throughout the entire process, I'm sure it will be fine as the temperature was always above 212-215F, so the hops should have been isomerized correctly. Also, as the batch was higher gravity that what I'm used to, it wound up blowing out several times within the first 48 hours of fermenting. I bet ...

Federal HST 9mm 147 gr JHP SIM-TEST w/Denim
Simple penetration and expansion test of the Federal HST 9mm 147 grainhollowpoint, using a diluted form of SIM-TEST Ballistic Testing Media. This format is comparable to ballistic gel, and includes four layers of denim. Video includes brief overview of the cartridge, recoil shots, and one shot test. Post-shot evaluation shows bullet path through the block, average diameter, and retained weight. Test gun was a Glock 19 with 4" barrel. My 5-shot average muzzle velocity was 1006 fps. Test shot is from 10 feet. BB calibration, approx. 600 fps, was 3.60", average of 5 shots. VERY IMPORTANT INFO REGARDING AMMO TESTS ON THIS CHANNEL: Early on, I used wetpack for ammo testing, with or without denim. Beginning in 2011 I use SIM-TEST calibrated to ballistic gel specs plus 4 layers of denim. The denim is an IWBA standard simulating the density of heavy clothing. Please understand that these techniques are merely representations to indicate possible ballistics; they are not intended to replicate real-world street results. Even by adding bone, additional clothing, etc., there are just too many factors involved in a self-defense scenario to offer a 100% degree of accuracy when compared to street results. It is essential to perform exhaustive research on your carry choice, which could yield actual use data.
