Benjamin Braddock (Dustin Hoffman) is unsure of his future. He returns home to Los Angeles after graduating from college on the east coast hoping to get some answers. At his welcome home party he feels alienated from his parent's friends and escapes to his room. Right when he thinks he's alone, his dad's business partner's wife Mrs. Robinson (Anne Bancroft) enters and asks for a ride home. Following the kind gesture, Mrs. Robinson offers herself to Ben but he declines and tries to get home quick but not before getting sound advice from Mr. Robinson who just gets home.
