The Goonies for NES Video Walkthrough Part 1
The Goonies for NES/Famicom was never released in the USA outside of Play-Choice 10 machines, though the sequel, Goonies II, was. The game is similar to The Goonies II, but with a far greater focus on arcade-style action. Commentary: 0:04 - The title screen is interesting. You can clearly make out Sloth, either Andy or Steph, and even Chunk. Who that guy running on the left is, though? No idea. 0:10 - They got the theme song here. Anyways, the idea is to kick mice, get the bombs, and use them to open the safes to get keys to move to the next area. You also need to save a Goonie in each area, or risk having to do the game over again. 0:14 - 8 Diamonds are hidden in each area. I don't get all of them, but I do get most of them. The hidden items in each stage are revealed by standing under them and performing some sort of input...in this stage, it's B. Collecting 8 diamonds refills your life bar. 0:23 - You need 3 keys to open the door. Note that a bomb exploding on Mikey is instant death. Be careful where you drop them. You can carry one bomb at a time. 0:27 - There's also hidden items in the game, which REALLY help. You find them the same way you find the diamonds: stand under them and hit buttons. Each of the items nullifies a certain type of attack. This is the Headphones, which protects Mikey from sound. 0:36 - The Fratelli Brothers will show up to harass you. Jake here has a gun, the other brother, Francis, will "sing" damaging notes at you (hence the headphones). They ...

The Goonies II Video Walkthrough Part 1
Heading into the hideout, we clear the first area and grab the first few essential items. I hate having to pare down my commentary to fit into the description area, but...meh. Commentary: 0:30 - This plot has nothing to do with the movies, or realism at all. Oh, they also kidnapped the other six Goonies again. 0:39 - I screw around a bit because it's a nice rendition of the "Goonies R Good Enough" on 8-bit, and I want to hear the whole thing. Anyways, this is the sub-screen. There's a map, and the hideout has a "Front" and "Back" side to it, so it gets confusing sometimes. You're at the red dot. Anyways, enjoy the music for now. 1:24 - Okay, enough screwing around. When you enter a door you go into "adventure mode", which is this psuedo-3D thing (the other mode is "action mode"). You now have some options: "Go" moves you in the direction you push the D-pad in (note you can't see any doors that may be behind you). "Hit" breaks out your fist. "Take" grabs whatever item is on screen. "Tools" uses your items. Start will cancel the current command. So, there's a hammer here. The hammer can be used to hit the walls to find hidden doors or other areas. 1:36 - The Key Holder adds 2 to your max stock of keys, then fills them up. Keys are used to open safes and jail cells. 1:40 - Two things of note here. One is the safe. There is NOTHING of any use in any of the safes that are not hidden. All you do is waste a key and get a clue that you don't need. The second is the hole in the ...

Groovy! "The Goonies 'R' Good Enough" was a single released by singer Cyndi Lauper for The Goonies, a 1985 film which was released at the same time as this single. It reached #10 on the US Billboard Hot 100. A rarity: Before its inclusion on The Essential Cyndi Lauper in 2003, the song was considered a rarity among fans, having never appeared on any of Lauper's albums or the 1995 compilation Twelve Deadly Cyns...and Then Some. Lauper admitted in an interview with Matthew Rettenmund for his 1996 book Totally Awesome 80s: A Lexicon of the Music, Videos, Movies, TV Shows, Stars, and Trends of that Decadent Decade that she hated the song, which was why she had chosen not to include it on her first compilation. All versions of the UK edition are considered rare, especially the 12". Music video: There was a two-part video shot for this song featuring World Wrestling Federation pro-wrestlers André the Giant, Captain Lou Albano, Rowdy Roddy Piper, Wendy Richter, The Fabulous Moolah, The Iron Sheik, Nikolai Volkoff, Freddie Blassie; Steven Spielberg; The Goonies cast (except for Kerri Green, Anne Ramsey, Joe Pantoliano, Robert Davi and John Matuszak); and the relatively unknown Bangles as a group of female pirates. Yoshi's Island 100% - Part 23 : Goonies of Cloud World
Phew, with exams complete, I can finally continue with the making of videos! Time to move onto the second half of world 5 at last! Both stages are fairly short this time around, and one of them only takes awhile due to it being some very, very slow auto-scrolling. First up though, is Goonie Rides! This stage may bring back some less than fond memories of that one parabeetle stage from Super Mario Brothers 3, but this one is pretty harmless in comparison. There is solid ground in almost all parts of the level so little worry about falling into a pit. The goonies are used more for accessing spots with red coins and flowers than anything. One way or another, it is a pretty fun stage! Now for something somewhat opposite... Cloud World is full of sloooooow moving auto-scrolling with little in the way of obstacles and the auto-scrolling section is easily broken by constant stealing of Lakitu's cloud. Not much I can say about this one... but it does have some pretty tricky jumps for goodies at the end of the stage, so be very careful! Enjoy!~ Forum Topic: pinkkittyrose.com
