Glen or Glenda? - Glen's Battle/Acceptance
In a startingly surreal sequence from Ed Wood's 1953 film "Glen or Glenda?" Glen (Played by Wood himself) battles his other transvestite self as Bela Lugosi overlooks. To cap it all off is the most famous scene in the movie when Dolores Fuller hands Ed her Angora Sweater...Wonderful! Art through sheer incompetence! Parts of it remind me of the work of David Lynch or even Bunuel!!!
Ed Wood: Glen Or Glenda? (1953) Part 1 Of 7
Ed Wood's first "major" film. IT IS TERRIBLE it's one of those movies that are so bad that they are good. It has a bizarre story, bad acting, and strange dialogue. The movie does not have the same outrageousness such as Plan 9 From Outer Space (1959) but still is hilarious. The first part of the film begins with a narrator named The Scientist (Bela Lugosi) making cryptic comments about humanity. The film proper opens with Inspector Warren finding the corpse of a male transvestite named Patrick/Patricia, who has committed suicide. Wanting to know more about cross-dressing, Warren seeks out Dr. Alton, who narrates for him the story of Glen/Glenda. However, at several points Alton appears to address the viewer rather than Inspector Warren, and the unclear role of the Scientist as narrator makes things even more confusing. Glen is shown studying women's clothes in a shop window. Dr. Alton points out that men's clothes are dull and restrictive, whereas women can adorn themselves with attractive clothing. He also makes some more bizarre statements, such as that baldness is caused by hats. Glen reads about sex change operations in a newspaper, then meets with Barbara, his girlfriend, who asks if Glen's secret problem is another women. The film then cuts to the (in)famous shot of the Scientist shouting "Pull the string!" as bison stampede onscreen. It is not clear what this is meant to mean; perhaps that Glen should act as puppeteer, controlling his own life instead of letting ...
Falling Slowly - Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova (Once)
I don't know you But I want you All the more for that Words fall through me And always fool me And I can't react And games that never amount To more than they're meant Will play themselves out Take this sinking boat and point it home We've still got time Raise your hopeful voice you have a choice You've made it now Falling slowly, eyes that know me And I can't go back Moods that take me and erase me And I'm painted black You have suffered enough And warred with yourself It's time that you won Take this sinking boat and point it home We've still got time Raise your hopeful voice you had a choice You've made it now Take this sinking boat and point it home We've still got time Raise your hopeful voice you had a choice You've made it now Falling slowly sing your melody I'll sing along

Horrible Pile Up at Glen Helen WORCS January 2012
PLEASE READ BEFORE COMMENTING: Horrible crash on a dangerous part of the track. WORCS at Glen Helen January 2012. I started on the 450B line, where the pile up started, and all the lines behind us got involved too. Just to top it off, once I had made up most of the positions I lost, I got a flat tire and lost all the spots again. Glen Helen, please never run the ridge that direction again.***I see a lot of comments wondering why I or other riders didnt run back up the hill to warn those still coming. First off, we're wearing heavy motocross boots...not exactly the best for quick mobility. Secondly, we wouldve had to run back to before where the dust started (visibility was about 15 at best in the dust) which was about 500 yards back, all uphill in loose silt. I figure it would take at least 3 to four minutes to cover that ground (leaving my bike behind as another obstacle) and another few minutes to get back. You can see how bad the terrain was when I tried to climb back up to the track. There was a guy standing on the track up there the next lap telling everyone to slow down, and I nearly hit him cruising along at a slower pace than I was riding at at the beginning of this video.

I couldnt post this earlier because it was just above 100MB and YouTube wouldnt allow it. But after my last video was linked from several awesome links including CartoonBrew, Seward Street and CookedArt, I realized this video might be well received as well. So I've squeezed the compression, hopefully it wont look too bad. I messed a little with the zoom on this one and the camera moved about a bit more so I hope it doesnt make anyone sick...! I've put up a few stills from this presentation on my blog including some notes from Paul Driessen's presentation at UCLA on my blog: www.numairabbas.blogspot.com
