Billy Gilman-"The Snake Song" (2000)
It was 8 years ago this month that a young man from Hope Valley, Rhode Island named Billy Gilman released his landmark platinum-selling debut album "One Voice." Two days before his 12th birthday he became the youngest person to hit the Billboard Country singles charts with the title cut (breaking Brenda Lee's old record), which wound up spending 5 weeks at the #1 spot. He is still the youngest person to have performed such a feat. He is also the youngest person to ever put an album in the Billboard Top 5 Country album charts (it debuted at #4). Twelve weeks later, the album went platinum in September of 2000, making him the youngest person in any genre of music to have a platinum album. He is also the youngest person to ever be nominated for a Grammy, in January 2001, and the youngest person to ever win an American Music Award for Best New Artist. This is my favorite track from that album, from the pen of legendary country songwriter Bobby Braddock, who also penned the classic "Revelation" for Waylon Jennings. (I have Keith Whitley's version on my channel if you would like to check it out.)
Away In A Manger - Billy Gilman
"Away In A Manger" performed by Billy Gilman from his 2000 "Classic Christmas" album. Other songs include, "Warm And Fuzzy", "There's A New Kid In Town", and "Sleigh Ride" featuring Charlotte Church. Away in a manger No crib for a bed The little Lord Jesus lay down his sweet head The stars in the sky looked down where he lay The little Lord Jesus asleep on the hay The cattle are lowing the baby awakes But little Lord Jesus no crying he makes I love thee Lord Jesus look down from the sky And stay by my cradle 'til morning is nigh Be near me Lord Jesus I ask thee to stay Close by me forever and love me I pray Bless all the dear children in thy tender care and feen us for Heaven to live with thee there

Billy Gilman / Elisabeth
Makes me wanna cry sometimes here some facts about the song....The song is about a girl named Elisabeth Wagner, she was the inspiration behind his single "Elisabeth," and he met her for the first time Saturday (Oct. 6) at the Texas state fair in Dallas The song is about a strong woman's fight against disease. Wagner, 21, has had neurofibromatosis, a genetic disorder that causes small growths to form on her nerves, since she was two years old. "Elisabeth" was written by Wagner's aunt, Liz Rose, and her friend Kim Patton Johnston.

Billy Gilman - "I'm Not Me Anymore"
Video idea for "I'm Not Me Anymore" from Billy Gilman's "Everything And More" album. This is a song about how the impact of one person can help you realize who you are, and help you grow. The video-idea showcases Billy Gilman in a graduation setting, celebrating and performing in front of friends. Lyrics: Is this my bed? What's going on in my head? I feel so different today I have this image of you My freedom, my courage, the strength I never knew I found the answer through you Discover the glory of living through you You taught me so much Your words lift me up I'm not me anymore I'm all of us and a part of you I'm not me anymore I am here for you With every beat of my heart I come closer to you I have this vision of you My kindness, my faith I attribute to you I share my secrets with you You taught me forgiveness with all that you do To have someone to trust Can change you so much And I'm not me anymore I'm all of us and a part of you I'm not me anymore Well I am here for you With every beat of my heart I come closer to you Closer than I've ever been To knowing your love never ends And even when my heart is aching Knowing that you'll take me in and love me again I'm not me anymore I'm all of us and a part of you I'm not me anymore Well I am here for you With every beat of my heart I come closer to you

Billy Gilman - Hey Little Suzie
I remember her Shakin' off the dust She could walk the walk, she was one of us When she went away, I went down that day Tried to cheer her, said you won't be missin' much All that I remember when I think of her back then Is a fast talkin', fun lovin' girl we called a friend Hey, little Suzie just got back She still wearin' her baseball hat But struck out twice and came back to sit with me The game got called on account of the weather the rain came down we huddled together Thinkn' that life couldn't get better and When she walked away I noticed she was lookin' back I hope that I'm the cause of all that An accidental touch Never meant so much Makes me realize That we're not close enough She used to talk so loud Now she's wispering Tryin' to draw me in And I'm listening She was always after something Now I wonder if it's me Maybe I'm just dreamin' but I call'em as I see'em Look what she shares when she's playin' with her hair Tells me where she's comin' from And that it's goin' somewhere Well hey, little Suzie just got back She still wearin' her baseball hat But struck out twice and came back to sit with me The game got called on account of the weather Rain came down & we huddled together I swear no uniform ever looked better And when she walked away I noticed she was lookin' back I hope that I'm the cause of all that Hey, little Suzie just got back

Billy Gilman - We Go On
"Screenplay" video-idea for Billy's "We Go On", the last official track on his self-titled album released in 2006. This is a sad, haunting song about how love is the most important thing in life and how we must "go on" after tragic things happen to us and people we care about. The video shows Billy walking down the street and seeing some of the things that people in America are dealing with everyday, including a family worrying about their father who is a soldier in Iraq. Video also features Billy helping children at the MDA in memory of Mattie JT Stepanek whose poems were featured on Billy's earlier album "Music Through Heartsongs". Lyrics: Deep in the valley of your soul Tired of worries you can't control With so many mountains left to climb Unanswered questions left to find. We go on, we go on It's the first lesson we learn When your born On the wings of angels We ride out the storm You and me we go on. Pull the stranger from the water And in that moment he is your brother There's a gift whe you receieve him Love is the greatest reason. We go on, we go on It's the first lesson we learn When your born On the wings of angels We ride out the storm You and me we go on. Faith happens when You can see against all odds You believe. We go on, we go on It's the first lesson we learn When your born On the wings of angels We ride out the storm You and me We go on, we go on...

When the night is still And the sea is calm Lonely shadow, you fall upon me Lay by my side Fear not tonight Lonely shadow, youll find a new light Dream a dream And see through angels eyes A place where we can fly away Ride with me upon a shining star, Above the moonlit sky We will find Elysium Hear the nightingale Sing a lullaby Lonely shadow, youll find a new light Dawn will be kind, All will be bright, Lonely shadow, rise from the darkness Dream a dream, etc. And see through Angels' eyes A place where we can fly' away ride with me upon a shining star above the moonlit sky we will find elysium

Billy Gilman - 'Til I Can Make It On My Own
Video idea for Billy Gilman's re-make of the classic country song, "'Til I Can Make It On My Own" from his first album, "One Voice". Other hit songs from this album include: "One Voice", "Oklahoma" and "There's A Hero". Following the success of Billy's first album is, "Dare To Dream" with singles "She's My Girl" and "Elisabeth". Billy Gilman performed 'Til I Can Make It On My Own at the Grande Ole Opry. Lyrics: I'll need time to get you off my mind And I may sometimes bother you, try to be in touch with you Even ask too much of you, from time to time Now and then, Lord you know I need a friend 'Til I get used to losing you, let me keep on using you 'Til I can make it on my own I'll get by, but no matter how I try There'll be times you know I'll call Chances all my tears will fall And I'll have no pride at all, from time to time But they say, oh there'll be a brighter day But 'til then I'll lean on you, that's all I mean to do 'Til I can make it on my own Surely someday I'll look up and see the morning sun Without another lonely night behind me Then I know I'm over you and all my crying's done And no more hurting memories will find me But 'til then, Lord you know I'm gonna need a friend 'Til I get used to losing you, let me keep on using you 'Til I can make it on my own 'Til I can make it on my own
