De Rode Lope interview with Alex Callier at his gorgeous place talking about Geike. Kindly translated by Temmink Title: The search of a new Geike That was quite a shock, however I did expect it. That evening we had an appointment to have dinner somewhere, and I said to Raymond on our way to the restaurant: "I think Geike wants to quit". It was very weird, I had this kind of feeling. [Geike singing Sometimes] With Geike it was a love/hate relationship. But that was also very interesting. I think it was Kubrick who said: "A good atmosphere on the set does not mean you will shoot a good movie". I think he is absolutely right. It was during our worst moments that Geike was at the peak of her vocals. You have to be quite strong to work with me. [Geike singing Eden] We recorded our first demos with Esther. Because of that we hit a contract. After that we found Lies and we traveled the world with her and the songs. The songs with Geike always worked out quite well. There have been things gone wrong, and I think that happened for a reason. Work it out and go further again. I think I've had like 600 e-mails from different singers: [Sample of Elena Isakova] She has the right voice, but when you listen to the English versions they're not this good. It doesn't have to be a woman! It also can be a man but he has to be a "genius", just like the woman. We are looking for the right voice, the voice that will immediately blow you away. It has to be someone who steps through the door and ...

He told me he was making his first long play movie, and that Spinvis,Erik de Jong, was going to make the music for the movie. I was looking forward to it.
