Gabriel is a dark action/drama that takes place in the realm of Purgatory. It reveals the struggle between Arc and Fallen angels for control over the city and its population of re-born souls. At present, darkness rules and Gabriel, the last of seven Arcs sent to return light, must assume a human form for the first time. In the darkest places of the human soul, this lone arc angel's battle with his human feelings and emotions will prove as perilous as facing the Fallen. This mix appeared originally in 1986 on the Geffen promo 7" and later in 1989 as the single version on 45 and cassette to promote the "Say Anything" Soundtrack (WTG records). The 1986 "single version" was over 6 minutes long and this was the "radio edit". It contains the additional verse at the end similar to how Peter plays this song live. Peter Gabriel - Lovetown
Peter Gabriel's song 'Lovetown' was first released in February 1993 on the soundtrack to the film 'Philadelphia' and was included on the film's soundtrack album. The video for the track was inspired by the art work of Yayoi Kusama, who Peter collaborated with on the video. He had also worked with Yayoi Kusama in 1992 when Yayoi Kusama was one of 11 artists who created images for Peter's 'Art From Us' project. Lovetown was not included on the 'Us' album but was released as a single in 1994. The video was released as part of a compilation of Peter's videos entitled 'Play' in 2004. Yayoi Kusama also worked with Peter on the "EvE" CD-ROM, released in 1996. Yayoi Kusama has an exhibition forthcoming at The Tate which runs from the 9 February -- 5 June 2012.
