Gil Hedley, Ph.D., of www.gilhedley.com gives a lesson on the importance of movement and stretching to maintain the sliding properties of tissues in the body, as well as the value of bodywork modalities and yoga when movement potential has become inhibited. I made this little clip when I was filming my DVD series in 2005.My thoughts have matured a little bit as compared to the way the ideas are presented in here, as might be expected from anyone engaging their learning curve and involved in a process of discovery, but I am also glad that so many people enjoy it "as is." The relationship between the superficial fascia and the deep fascia consists of a variety of transitional tissue configurations, sometimes very loose (normally) and sometimes very fixed (normally), and I have found these differences are quite predictable from one area of the body to another, and from one body to another, whether the tissue is fixed or not. Also, it is normal for there to be "fuzzy" tissue between "individual muscles" within the muscle layer. As with all tissues of the body, all the matter of which it consists is transitioning at various paces, some quicker, some more slowly. "Fuzzy" tissues indeed cycle more quickly then some more dense tissues. By example, the stomach lining sloughs off in 3 to 5 days, the skin cycles in 2 to 5 weeks, bone is cycling over the course of months. Onto the pedal.... the fine folks over at God Box and I combined efforts to develop my signature fuzz pedal... the Fuzz Fatale. I wanted a fuzz pedal that could give me some of the classic Germanium fuzz tones that I love and use but that would remain stable enough for the purposes of touring or gigging. Additionally, I wanted to have the ability to tweak the fuzz for more experimental fuzz tones. After many weeks and emails and God Box's guru, Carl's blood sweat and tears, we finally have it! The Fuzz Fatale is a Silicon based fuzz that is able to be tweaked to give you crunchy, gritty germanium fuzz tones. The Fuzz Fatale can be dialed in to give you classic fuzz tones... from a Tonebender to a Fuzz Face to a Superfuzz to a Big Muff. You can also get some searing overdrive and crisp distortion as well as some mosquito fuzz tones and sputtering, dying battery tones. It's a lot like Prego.... it's in there. As for controls, the Seduce knob is a voltage sag, which allows you to either starve the circuit slightly for a more gritty, classic sounding fuzz or crank the knob to really get some mosquito and dying battery tones. Well, here you go! The Furry Burrito from Yellowcake is somewhat of a cross between an OD and a fuzz pedal. I like to think of it as an OD that likes to party with Fuzz but whose parents don't let it stay out passed 11..... it really wants to get down and dirty but it is just a bit too tame, which I have to say I like in this situation. I have a good amount of fuzz pedals that are very uncontrollable and erratic, which I like when the song calls for it.... but I also like a pedal with grit and dirt that still retains its clarity. I'm also very into the wonderfully tweakable knobs on this hairy beast, especially the voltage knob. Do yourself a favor and check one out for yourself.... especially if you have always been on the fence about jumping in the awesome realm of fuzz pedals! www.ProGuitarShop.com- Fuzz!!! The Barber Trifecta Fuzz pedal has tons of fuzz! Big Muff Pi, Suppa Bender, and Jumbo Bender fuzz tones are all available via a three way toggle switch. The unique Sludge knob controls the amount of low end going in to the fuzz circuit. This gives you ultimate control over the fuzz when changing from single coils to humbuckers. It also keeps the fuzz from getting too buttery on the low end. The Tone control is another boost/cut type of control. When turning the control up, the treble is boosted and the bass has a slight roll off, when turning the control down, the bass is boosted slightly and the treble is rolled off. The Barber Trifecta Fuzz pedal definitely delivers some fuzzy goodness! The three settings are true to their masters, the Pi sounds like a Big Muff, the Suppa sounds like a Suppa, well you get the point. The Trifecta fuzz ranges from slight to extremely fuzzy and furry. The interactive Tone control lets all sorts of tones run through this puppy and the Sludge control keeps the tone tight (if you want) or loose depending on how much Sludge you feel you need.
