The music of Sweet Billy Pilgrim is first and foremost, staggeringly beautiful. But it's a shy beauty a lingering ambience and a distant clicking in the night, church windows built from littered glass, love songs that look to the day when even the children are forgotten. Strangers tell you their heartbreaks. Fountain's toss back their coins. And just when you start to feel skeptical, in shambles singer Tim Elsenburg shaggy and dour, wringing joy from his melodies with a bashful croak and a glorious croon. Sweet Billy Pilgrim are exemplars of English atmospheric art-pop, and it's natural that they would release their second album, Twice Born Men, on David Sylvian's Samadhisound label. Even compared to a Radiohead or an Elbow, Sweet Billy Pilgrim achieve a sublime balance between their hooks and their moods, their ambitions and their humility. They also have a sense of humour. Elsenburg is still smacking himself for telling an interviewer that Twice Born Men, is a love album but "not in a Barry White way." It's a fair description. Twice Born Men, is a kind of concept album, in the loosest sense, says Elsenburg. It starts at the end of the heart's little journey and then works its way back to the beginning, which is actually the end anyway. This is an inspirational talk that Richard Seymour gave at Coventry University about the challenges and responsibilities of designers in the future. Richard Seymour is co-founder of Seymour-powell, one of the world's top product design agencies. Based in London, Seymour-powell has been responsible for some of the most iconic products of the last 25 years, including the world's first cordless kettle, pocket mobile phone and Bioform Bra. More recently, the company has been involved with helping to develop the interior of Richard Branson's Virgin Galactic privateer spacecraft and a hydrogen-powered motorcycle. He is holder of the D&AD Presidents Award for Outstanding Contribution to Design and recipient of an Honorary Doctorate from the Centre for Creative Studies, Michigan. He is a Senior Fellow of the Royal College of Art and was voted (with Dick Powell) 6th Most Important Mover and Shaker in British Culture 2004 by the BBC. Sweet Billy Pilgrim - Future Perfect Tense
Future Perfect Tense by Sweet Billy Pilgrim. Sweet Billy Pilgrim are an English pop band, composed of bassist/banjo player Anthony Bishop, guitarist and songwriter Tim Elsenburg, and drummer/percussionist Alistair Hamer. The three members met whilst at school, Tim and Anthony are from Wingrave and Alistair from Wendover, both in Buckinghamshire. Sweet Billy Pilgrim formed in 2003 after their previous band 'Cordisto' came to an end. The name Sweet Billy Pilgrim is taken from Billy Pilgrim, the main character in Kurt Vonnegut's Slaughterhouse 5. After repeated rejections from both major and independent record labels, Tim bought a Power Book, they installed Pro Tools, and the band began to record themselves. Due to financial restraints, all of Sweet Billy Pilgrim's records have (apart from the acoustic drums) been recorded and produced in a garden shed using a laptop and one good microphone. The band feel this has had a positive influence on their sound. Their first release was a self funded single featuring hand stamped artwork containing two songs 'Stars Spill Out of Cups' and 'Atlantis'. As of 2009[update], they have gone on to release two albums. "We Just Did What Happened and No One Came" was released in 2005 and awarded four stars by Mojo magazine, and The Sunday Times called it, "a rather special debut", making the track "Stars Spill Out of Cups" one of their songs of the year. PCSX2 Time Splitters 3 Future Perfect full speed 60fps
Using the latest PCSX2 1736 Time Splitters runs at full speed all the time. The video is showing a quick Gladiator arcade vs bots. There are artifacts on the bottom of the screen, but for few seconds after the beginning everything is fine. When recording the fps sometimes drops to 55, but this is only because of FRAPS. A interesting thing I want to mention is the possibility of playing with mouse and keyboard. It feels strange when you have lke 50+ hours on the PlayStation 2 with gamepad, but other then that its fun to play it that way. The Future Perfect Passive
