The film concludes with a call to 'take back the tap,' not only by making a personal commitment to avoid bottled water, but by supporting investments in clean, available tap water for all.

Lawrence Lessig Keynote at Coffee Party Convention 2010
www.fixcongressfirst.org Lawrence Lessig speaks at the first Coffee Party Convention in Louisville, KY on Sept. 25, 2010 Press release on Coffee Party Convention: bit.ly Reforming the system will never be Congress's first priority until a grassroots movement gives politicians a choice: You can have our support or special interest money, but not both. What is the Fair Elections Now Act? The bipartisan Fair Elections Now Act was offered this year by Sens. Dick Durbin (D-IL) and Arlen Specter (D-PA), and Reps. John Larson (D-CT) and Walter Jones (R-NC). With senior leaders in the Senate and House taking the lead, and 135 co-sponsors in the House alone, the bill has strong champions in both houses of Congress. Under this legislation, congressional candidates who raise a threshold number of small-dollar donations would qualify for a chunk of funding—several hundred thousand dollars for House, millions for many Senate races. If they accept this funding, they can't raise big-dollar donations. But they can raise contributions up to $100, which would be matched four to one by a central fund. Reduced fees for TV airtime is also an element of this bill, creating an incentive for politicians to opt into this system and run people-powered campaigns.

Speed painting - hens in pastel
**best viewed in HD/HQ mode** Here are four of the hens that free range outside my studio, having a good old gossip. I just painted this for fun - how could I not, they're such great characters..............................It took 7 hours to complete. I used pastel pencils (all sorts of brands) on Fisher 400 sanded paper....................... To answer the FAQs that I usually get: I don't use water or any fluids. The background is in soft pastel sticks, the 'brush' looking thing I use on it at the start is a silicon 'colour shaper' tool: it blends the colours. The hens are done entirely with pastel pencils. Mostly I use Faber Castell & Schwann CarbOthello. I used to use Derwent, but have had quality issues so I've stopped using them and cannot recommend them. The stick you can see some of the time is a Mahl stick, as used by signwriters. It's just to lean my hand on without smudging the work. I do sell my work and take portrait commissions in the UK (it's my living, so please don't ask for freebies!), more about that on my website for anyone interested. I don't do any teaching or tuition, I just make these videos from time to time because people seem to enjoy watching the process. Hope you do too... happy viewing!

In Washington, Summit events included: Lobby Day on Capitol Hill (Jan. 20) supplemented by Lobby Days around the country Artist showcase & Party For the People (Jan 20, 6 to 9 PM at K Street Lounge) "We the Corporations vs. We the People" Rally (Jan. 21 at 11 AM at the US Capitol Area 9) Two-day Summit (Jan. 21 and 22 at the Washington Plaza Hotel at Thomas Circle) Bill Moyer of the Backbone Campaign and Annabel Park of the Coffee Party are two of the principal organizers. "It's very hard to make progress on any issue without addressing the problem of money in politics," Park said, "because right now it takes a nearly impossible amount of effort for ordinary people to compete with the daily influence that entrenched lobbyists enjoy. To succeed, we need to step outside the traditional left-right-center framework and find common cause across the political divide." "The greatest political reform of our time will be to abolish the legal concept of 'corporate ...

Mason - Le Big Bob (Official Video)
Out now on iTunes bit.ly Out now on beatport: bit.ly Mason - Le Big Bob (Official Video) A video by Daan Oskam & Frenkel Schonfeld Out soon on Animal Language With mixes from Inflagranti, Disco Of Doom, Luke Walker and the "Refurb" Mason return in fine style with a new Animal Language release in the shape of 'Le Big Bob'. Inspired by a heavyweight snack the boys ate on tour 'Le Big Bob' is a tune packed with colesterol and heart attack inducing musical obesity. Spending the Summer touring their live show around the world, the Amsterdam based duo have been hungry to get back into their studio. Having dusted off the cobwebs from their arsenal of analogue equipment, Iason and Coen filled up their mixing bowl of obscure samples, free range beats and dancing dust, whisking intensely into a thick creamy goodness until "Le Big Bob" was ready to bake. Since that day Mason have employed the services of some very fine assistant chefs in order to rework the recipe. Inflagranti take the same basic ingredients and do their chuggy, funky thing to Le Big Bob, turning it into a slightly leaner plateful. Disco Of Doom's remix has got more e numbers than a gallon of Kia ora. The London based blog housers throw away most of the organic produce and swap it out for nasty additives in their dark and twisted interpretation. New kid on the block Luke Walker gets experimental with his ingredients, using some of the original with old school break influences and a sprig of tech house.Tasty. Finally ...

Wormwood (original dance piece with custom score) 2003 Premier
Wormwood is an original dance piece by Daniel Adame featuring custom music by Aaron Hermes of Audio Telepathy. Premiering on October 20th 2003, it was part of the Monday Night Footfall series at Diverseworks, in Houston TX. It marked the first choreographed work by Adame. What made this project different from most others was the fact that the choreography was created before the music. Using rough video from the rehearsals, Aaron sculpted each scene informed by the movement of the dancers, and created and recorded all of the music over a two week span. In 2011, the audio was remastered at Free Range Studios. Custom CGI was also created for this work by Adam Teninbaum. To date, Wormwood has only been performed once. The low video quality is due to the technology of the times, but the movement and the moment are still there. Dancers: Daniel Adame, Lindsey McGill, and Tina Shariffskul Music: Aaron Hermes of Audio Telepathy CGI: Adam Teninbaum Soundtrack available for purchase on CD or by visiting: audiotelepathy.bandcamp.com
