Man charged in connection with fake passports haul
www.ntv.co.ke One person has been arraigned in court following the controversial importation of Somalia passports and identity cards in Kenya. The consignment was destined for Nairobi but was intercepted by police and customs officials at the Mombasa port. Anjivan Sunilkum Mukherejee was however released on bond after denying the charges at the Mombasa court pending the hearing of the case in February next year. The Somali government has in the meantime denied any involvement in the saga.

Fake Passports Fury: Australia expels israeli Mossad Spy
The federal government of Australia says it has ordered the expulsion of an Israeli diplomat over fraudulent use of Australian passports by Israel to assassinate a Hamas official. Australian Foreign Minister Stephen Smith said on Monday that investigations had led to concrete evidence that Israeli intelligence services were behind the forgery of four Australian passports used in the murder of senior Hamas commander Mahmoud al-Mabhouh in Dubai back in January. "These investigations and advice have left the government in no doubt that Israel was responsible for the abuse and counterfeiting of these passports," Reuters quoted Smith as telling the country's parliament. "No government can tolerate the abuse of its passports," he added, explaining further that this is not what Canberra expects from Tel Aviv with which it has had "such a close, friendly and supportive relationship." The Australian foreign minister said the government had asked that "a member of Israel's Australian embassy in Canberra be withdrawn within a week" without disclosing the individual's identity. Al-Mabhouh was killed on January 19 in a hotel room by a hit squad of at least 11 people carrying forged international passport, Dubai authorities have indicated.

The suspects were part of a group that authorities believe provided fake identification documents to groups with links to terrorists and organized crime. Thai authorities arrested two Pakistanis and one Thai national for making fake identification documents for terrorist, arms-trafficking and human-trafficking groups. 40 fake passports were confiscated along with over 1000 pages of related documents. The three were arrested on Tuesday at an apartment in Bangkok after tip-offs from European authorities, as part of a coordinated effort in several countries. Seven men were arrested in Barcelona, Spain, accused of providing fake identification documents to al Qaeda-linked groups. And according to Spain's Interior Ministry, also included was one of the men who carried out the Mumbai attacks in 2008. Sources say the suspects coordinated with partners in Europe who mailed stolen passports to Thailand, which were then used for forgery of new documents. Authorities believe these were then sold to groups with links to terrorist organizations and other organized crime groups.

Fake Nepali passport racket busted !
In yet another crackdown on counterfeiting Nepali passports ! Police have busted a racket involved in forging passports and arrested nine persons from various places in Kathmandu. A police team from Metropolitan Police Range, Hanumandhoka arrested Devendra Luintel from Kapan, Masid Ullah from Bagbazaar and seven others from various parts of the capital. They have also recovered 52 passport books, fake police reports, fake visa of gulf countries, and fake documents of various educational institutions. The seized passport books were original ones, according to the police. Police have claimed Luintel has been involved in forging passports and sending Nepali workers to gulf countries with fake visas. They also recovered a list of persons who had gone to the gulf countries for work with fake visas. Earlier, police posed as 'customers' to establish Luintel and Ullah's involvement in forging passports and visas. Based on a tipoff criminal division of the metropolitan police sent one of its staff to the travel agency run by Ullah in Bagbazaar. Ullah told the policemen in disguise of customers the passport would be ready in five days for Rs 20000. Please rate/comment !!!

Kōzō Okamoto was born on December 7, 1947. He joined the Japanese Red Army founded by Fusako Shigenobu in 1971 in Lebanon. On May 30, 1972, Kōzō Okamoto along with Yasuyuki Yasuda, and Tsuyoshi Okudaira, arrived at Lod Airport, via Air France Flight 132 from Rome. After disembarking from the plane the three members of the JRA proceeded to the baggage claim area. Upon retrieving their luggage, they took out automatic weapons packed inside the suitcases and proceeded to open fire on other passengers in the baggage claim area. The attack was a joint operation of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), and the Japanese Red Army. It was referred to as Operation Deir Yassin, in response to the 1948 Deir Yassin massacre by Irgun (Zionist paramilitary group) members. They killed 26 people and injured 71 others. Yasuyuki Yasuda and Tsuyoshi Okudaira committed suicide by placing grenades against their bodies. Kōzō Okamoto was wounded and captured and sentenced to life imprisonment in Israeli prisons where he had been tortured. On July 8, 1972, the Palestinian short story writer and spokesperson for the PFLP Ghassan Kanafani, and his niece , were assassinated in retaliation for the attack. On July 23, 1973, PFLP and JRA operatives hijacked Japan Air Lines Flight 404, demanding Okamoto's release in exchange for the hostages onboard; Israel refused to comply. Gerrard Otimi has been arrested and will appear in court on Wednesday on three charges of deception. He is accused of openly running a scam that has caused a major outcry. The man accused of taking overstayers for a ride, was invited to take a trip of his own on Tuesday - to the police station. ONE News obtained footage from an associate of Otimi who was filming a video diary as the police raided his house in South Auckland at 9am. "Am I under arrest if I refuse?", Otimi asked police. A police officer told Otimi it was entirely up to him. "If you want to be arrested you can be arrested. It's over to you." Otimi was told he was being arrested for causing loss by deception under the Crimes Act. "I am willing to co-operate two thousand percent 'cause I have done nothing wrong," Otimi said. Last Wednesday night, Otimi was openly selling passport stamps and residency certificates for $500. He told hundreds of Pacific Island overstayers that joining his hapu would protect them from the Immigration Service. Even as he was taken away by police, he was remaining defiant. Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio said President Barack Obama's birth certificate is not authentic. Arpaio revealed the findings of a investigation into the president's birth certificate at a 1 hour and 20 minute news conference Thursday, calling the certificate "suspect." Arpaio's team of investigators said they found that the long-form birth certificate was created electronically and never existed in paper form. The president's Selective Service card was also questioned. Arpaio's investigators claimed the document has "failed every test we put it through." At Thursday's news conference, investigators said they will request a criminal investigation. They also said they have identified a person of interest in the forgery of the birth certificate. Arpaio said he is not accusing the president of the crime. He said they will investigate who is behind the "possible forgery and fraud." "I haven't decided where to go with this yet," Arpaio said. "I just wanted to get the facts of this situation. We haven't accused anyone of anything." The controversy over the certificate has been widely debunked, but it remains alive in the eyes of some conservatives, namely members of the Tea Party who urged Arpaio to look into the matter.
