Highlights of International AFL Football featuring countries such as New Zealand, Samoa, Ireland, Japan, Nauru, Great Britain, Spain, Papua New Guinea, South Africa, Canada and the USA. High Flyers and Spectacular Marks, Big Hits and Bumps, Skills, Great Goals, International Culture and to top it off ... the World (International) Cup. Australian Rules football celebrates 150 years in 2008 with an international carnival to be held in Melbourne and Warrnambool in Victoria, Australia between 27 August and 6th September. Ireland won the 2002 cup and New Zealand won the 2005 cup with PNG runners up on both occasions. As well as seeing the return of Denmark, up to 16 teams are set to compete, with new sides from China, Finland, India, Israel/Palestine (Peres Team), Sweden as well as multicultural sides. Team Asia comprised of players from Vietnam, Laos, Thailand and the Phillipines. Team Africa comprised of players from Sudan, Somalia, Algeria and Ethiopia. The Grand Final will be played at the Melbourne Cricket Ground and will be televised on Fox Sports Australia. This video features some spectacular marks by All-stars Alister Sioni (PNG), James Bowden (NZ), Todd Danks (NZ), Alfred Spanner (Nauru) and Fia Tootoo (Samoa) as well as Bruce Parker (Canada). Brad Fittler On The Footy Show (FUNNY)
a small clip of Brad Fittler having some fun on the footy show Brad "Freddie" Fittler (born 5 February 1972) is an Australian former rugby league footballer and coach. He most recently coached the Sydney Roosters of the NRL. As a player, Fittler captained both New South Wales and Australia, and in 2000 was awarded the Golden Boot award. He retired as the most capped New South Wales State of Origin player and has been named among Australia's finest rugby league footballers of the first century of rugby league in Australia. In 1996, he joined the Sydney Roosters where he played nine seasons, captaining them to the 2002 Grand Final victory. Fittler retired as the second most experienced first grader, behind Terry Lamb (349), having played 336 games. He was selected for Kangaroo Tours in 1990, 1994 and 2001 and played in the World Cups of 1992, 1995 and 2000. Early in his career Fittler struggled with discipline problems, but he matured into a fine leader. He captained Australia in 20 Tests, winning 17 and losing 3, and in a further 5 victories in the 2000 World Cup. He also captained NSW in 14 State of Origin matches, winning 8 and losing 6. In club competition, he captained the Roosters to their first grand final appearance in twenty seasons in 2000, a Premiership in 2002 and successive grand final appearances in 2003 and 2004, before retiring at the end of 2004. On a show that rarely gets emotional or touchy feely (one of the reasons I'm a fan), this is one of the most unusual episodes of The Footy Show. It starts off normally enough, but then Jim Stynes comes on to talk about his battle with cancer and his documentary (Every Heart Beats True). And then Shane Crawford arrives, completing his run from Adelaide to Melbourne for the Breast Cancer Network of Australia. Add to that the nostalgia of the fact that this was the last (or supposed to be the last) show recorded at Bendigo Street in Richmond and this is (in my opinion) one of the best, most unique episodes of The Footy Show ever.
