Full info: www.exosphere3d.com This animation is based on all currently available data concerning the US Airways Flight 1549 crash landing on the Hudson River (Cactus 1549). Satellite imagery, elevation models and robust GIS mapping methods are utilized to create a vegetation model, terrain model and ground clutter (3D buildings). Of all available audio tracks, only two are used, La Guardia Tower and New York TRACON Departure controller position. Radar data as well as the onboard Flight Data Recorder are utilized in constructing the flightpath of the aircraft. project homepage: www.exosphere3d.com This video presents the alternate audio tracks and does so by splitting to L and R channels. The audio presented is: LaGuardia ATCT Cab Coordinator, LaGuardia ATCT South Terminal Control, New York TRACON South Control, and Teterboro ATCT Local Control position Radar data is displayed in the upper right quadrant with aircraft identification and altitude (100's of feet). The audio transcripts of the aforementioned audio tracks are displayed on screen for nearly all communications from the mentioned audtio recordings. Continuity is maintained with the audio transcript display, however the audible tracks are faded in and out and selected based on perceived importance to the accident timeline. This combination of information is not a likely candidate for final presentation because of information overload. However, it does illustrate the usefulness and capabilities of a fully integrated reconstruction technique. US Airways Flight 1549 - ATC Recordings [Full Audio]

Like us on Facebook: www.facebook.com US Airways flight 1549 was a passenger flight from New York-La Guardia Airport, NY (LGA) to Charlotte-Douglas International Airport, NC (CLT), operated by an Airbus A320. The airplane took off at 15:26 from LaGuardia's runway 04. The first officer was pilot flying. As they were reaching an altitude of 3000 feet the crew saw a formation of Canada geese. Before they knew it, the windscreen turned dark brown and several loud thuds were heard. Both engines began to lose power and there was a burning smell. The captain took over control of the the flight. They radioed ATC about their emergency situation: "Aaah, this is Cactus 1549. We lost thrust in both engines. We are turning back toward LaGuardia." It quickly became evident that they were not able to reach LaGuardia. A possible landing at the Tereboro Airport (TEB) was considered. The captain decided that they would not be able to land safely on the short runway in the middle of a built-up area. The flight descended over the Hudson River until it ditched. All occupants evacuated the airplane, climbing onto the wing and entering escape slides. Coast Guard vessels and commuter ferries rescued everyone on board. According to FlightAware.com the maximum altitude was 3200 feet before the aircraft began a descent into the water. The last radar return received by FlightAware showed the aircraft at 300ft and 153kts. The National Transportation Safety Board determined that the cause of the ...

Air Crash Investigation - Hudson Splash Down (US Airways Flight 1549)

US Airways Flight 1549 was US Airways' scheduled domestic commercial passenger flight from LaGuardia Airport in New York City to Charlotte/Douglas International Airport, Charlotte, North Carolina. On January 15, 2009, the aircraft flying this route, an Airbus A320-214, was successfully ditched in the Hudson River adjacent to midtown Manhattan six minutes after takeoff from LaGuardia Airport after being disabled by striking a flock of Canada geese during its initial climb out. The incident became known as the "Miracle On The Hudson". The entire crew of Flight 1549 was later awarded the Master's Medal of the Guild of Air Pilots and Air Navigators. The award citation read, "This emergency ditching and evacuation, with the loss of no lives, is a heroic and unique aviation achievement." It has been described as "the most successful ditching in aviation history." Although receiving much media attention and praise, Flight 1549 was not the first event of its kind, with Pan Am Flight 6, the ditching of a Boeing 377 Stratocruiser in the Pacific Ocean, preceding the event by slightly over 52 years; Flight 6 also resulted in the survival of all passengers.

US Airways Flight 1549 Airbus A320 Bird Strike Crash Raw ATC FAA Audio

AviationExplorer.com | US Airways Flight 1549 was US Airways scheduled domestic commercial passenger flight from LaGuardia Airport in New York City to Charlotte Douglas International Airport, Charlotte, North Carolina. The bird strike, which occurred just northeast of the George Washington Bridge about three minutes into the flight, resulted in an immediate and complete loss of thrust from both engines. When the aircrew of the Airbus 320 determined that they would be unable to reliably reach any airfield, they turned southbound and glided over the Hudson, finally ditching the airliner near the USS Intrepid museum about three minutes after losing power. All 155 occupants safely evacuated the airliner, which was still virtually intact though partially submerged and slowly sinking, and were quickly rescued by nearby ferries and other watercraft.

US Airways Flight 1549 Audio Tape

This is the ATC tapes of US Airways Flight 1549 just before they landed on the Hudson. On January 15, 2009, Sullenberger was pilot in command of an Airbus A320 from New York's LaGuardia Airport to Charlotte/Douglas International Airport in Charlotte, North Carolina. The flight was designated as US Airways Flight 1549 as well as United Airlines Flight 1919.However, after taking off, Sullenberger reported to air traffic control (ATC) that the plane had hit a large flock of birds, disabling both engines.Several passengers saw the left engine on fire.Sullenberger discussed with ATC the possibilities of either returning to LaGuardia or attempting to land at Teterboro Airport in New Jersey. However, he quickly decided neither was feasible, and determined to ditch in the Hudson River.Sullenberger told the passengers to "brace for impact", then piloted the plane to a smooth ditching in the river at about 3:31 PMAll passengers and crew members survived. He later said, "It was very quiet as we worked, my co-pilot and I. We were a team. But to have zero thrust coming out of those engines was shocking—the silence."Sullenberger checked the plane cabin twice before being the last to evacuate the aircraft. The Mayor of New York City, Michael Bloomberg, said that Sullenberger and his crew will receive the "Key to the City".A fan club dedicated to Sullenberger was created on the social networking website Facebook within hours of the news.US President George W.
