First-Person Project: The Jacknife Chronicles

~Storyline~ Aperture Corporation has won an election over the Combine forces in City 17. In order to expand their business to a larger scale, they chose to take over different sections of the city, evacuating all citizens of the section to build their headquarters. All citizens who resist shall be either apprehended or killed. Jacknife seeks revenge on this corporation. He saw his wife get brutally beaten and arrested by a secret agency under the Aperture Corporation because she resisted to evacuate with all the others. It is now his mission, his life, and his goal, to save his wife under the clutches of Aperture, and put an end to the one who's responsible for all of this. Part action, part free running, part thriller, comes a unique storytelling adventure told without any real dialogue. ~Some minor notes~ - Jacknife is a character based off the looks and name of a character from the game Mirror's Edge. - The effects seen when Jacknife was brushing alongside the wall in the introduction was made by a good friend of mine, Deremixproductions. He used Adobe After Effects to achieve this unique effect. - Most of the running is complete player control. Only rarely I used NPC's. - The shaky cam effect was achieved with SharpYe, an addon for Garry's Mod. - I am well aware of the small visual glitches that may be hard to spot at first. First-Person Project: The Uprising - Part 1

A law-disobeying citizen arriving at City 17 finds himself joining the infamous Resistance group, which is a team of citizens fighting against the Combine, who are in control over the city. In this episode, we see the protagonist refusing to obey an officer's orders, and resists the arrest of in-pursuit Combine guards. He stumbles into an abandoned building and right before a group of officers apprehends him, two Resistance members come to his rescue. The members lead the protagonist to an underground hideout, where one of many sections of the Resistance team hide down in. Our protagonist is informed about the situation reguarding leaving the city via the trainstation, and find White Forest outside of City 17, which is a Resistance base that contains the needs to destroy and put an end to the Combine once and for all. This is a fight for freedom. This is a war for independence. This is The Uprising. --------------------- Enjoy the first part of the mini first-person action series. Skate 3 | First Person Montage

Since March 11th I've been playing Skate 3 for about 6 hours a day devising clips and editing them to appear in a first person view. There was definitely room for improvement in some shots where you can see the inside of my body in the frame. I didn't notice them until I edited the video and I only saved about 3 of the replays, so there was no going back. Overall I'm very proud of this montage. Getting the camera angles to look realistic takes a lot of time and even more patience. I want to send a big thanks to Approaching Nirvana for allowing people to use their music.
