This was her performance at her first master class in Milton Keynes with us as Emily's Vertical Art on the 5th August 2009 (NOT the 1st as it says on the video! Tsk!). CRASH-B 2010 Junior Heavyweight Men Felix Bach 5 51.8
Felix Bach broke his erg at the start of his heat with the other top Junior Men. I did not capture that on video and am very, very sad about it. That incident may have kept Felix from setting a Junior Men's world record, but he ends up winning by over 25 seconds faster than the second place guy. After breaking his erg, Felix rowed in the next event, with the lightweight girls. Felix is a big guy, maybe 6'- 8" or so. Felix pulled 5:51.8, a personal best, which comes to a power rate of around 515 Watts. The audio from the announcers also gives you a ton of info. Also, notice his damper setting. Felix Cartal - "DOMO": SXSW 2012 Showcasing Artist
2012 marks an important year for Felix Cartal, as the first single off his sophomore album has demonstrated, his sound has matured into simply put: memorable music. This single, titled, "Don't Turn On The Lights", featuring a vocal from Ultra Music topliner Polina, has already garnered support from MTV, BPM (Sirius XM) and Muchmusic, who have all added the video and song into heavy rotation. Not wanting to slow down, Cartal maintains an aggressive release schedule leading up to the drop date of his sophomore LP "DIFFERENT FACES" on Steve Aoki\'s Dim Mak Records in late March 2012. The 2nd single, DOMO (out Feb7th), taps into aggressive sounds and Japanese pop culture, whereas the 3rd single BLACK TO WHITE (out March6th and featuring Miss Palmer), falls back onto the pop influences of the first single. Branded with cute girls, b&w photography and red balloons, the concept for the album is strong, consistent, memorable. Growing up in Vancouver, Felix's initial mark on the dance scene was with his debut EP in 2009 titled 'Skeleton.' Steve Aoki and MSTRKRFT were some of the earliest supporters of Cartal's sound, and he released his debut LP 'POPULAR MUSIC' on Aoki's label, Dim Mak Records. Felix da Housecat We All Wanna be Prince
Every lyric of this is from a Prince song" exclaims Felix Stallings. The Housecat is going on 10 lives with the release of his new LP He Was King. It features 12 synth-pop, soon-to-be-classics with a fun, campy electro twist as only Felix can summon. With goodies like "KickDrum" and "Spank You Very Much", it was made for the heart and the floor. And to think "We All Wanna Be Prince" was a last minute addition that almost never was! Fooling around in the studio, his engineer came up with a kick and stab that was pure Prince and just like the Purple One, Felix recorded his vocals in half time, sped them up in the computer giving them an "Erotic City" delivery over a classic "Dirty Mind" feel. They realized they were on to something and so did Felix's friends who contributed remixes. Felix Laband is an electronic music artist born in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa. He creates light, emotional, minimalist soundscapes by combining several styles, and samples from classical, jazz and old television recordings overlaid with instrumental performances by himself and other guest artists. His music has been described by his record label as 'indietronica' and is similar in some ways to Boards of Canada and Iceland's Múm.
