December 2007. Stopped by a Fazioli piano dealership in Manhattan to test drive a few of these fine, expensive pianos that are hand crafted in Italy. They have a nice, bright and clear sound. (The test driver is not the poster, btw.) Faziolis cost between 50.000 and 100.000 euros (that's EUROS) each, ranking them as the Rolls-Royce of pianos. They also happen to be Canadian-British pianist Angela Hewitt's piano of choice these days. And no, we did NOT purchase one during this visit! It would have left us in the poor house!
