This is my blog about Alphabeat It is no secret that 80's pop is back in vogue today. You can find element of that genre in everything from hard rock to pop to even metal bands around the world. The enduring popularity of 80's pop is a testament to the impact that this style of music had and continues to have. However, the genre may have a new face. Their name? Alphabeat. Who is Alphabeat? An excellent question; they are a sextet pop group originally from Copenhagen, now located on the east side of London, England. They are much more than that, though. To listen to industry experts, they are the heir to the pop legacy that the 90's never answered. Alphabeat stands poised to take the world by (a happy) storm. Really, you ask? Yes, to all appearances, they will soon be crowned the kings (and one queen) of modern pop, with roots that reach back decades. What is the reason for all this hyperbole about a band? Believe it or not, some of the top music critics and most acclaimed music sources in Britain (NME, Popjustice and more) have all acclaimed them one of the most perfect pop bands in the world. That is big praise coming from those particular sources, as well. Alphabeat combines an unusual mixture, though. Obviously, they use the platform of spunk pop (wonky pop by their terminology), which appeals to kids and the young at heart ...

Annunzio Paolo Mantovani (November 15, 1905 March 29, 1980), known by the mononym Mantovani, was a popular conductor and light orchestra-style entertainer with a cascading strings musical signature. He is more associated with the light orchestra genre than any other entertainer. Mantovani was born in Venice, Italy and his father was the concertmaster of La Scala orchestra under Arturo Toscanini. His family moved to England in 1912, where he studied at Trinity College of Music in London. After graduation, he formed his own orchestra, which played in and around Birmingham. By the time World War II broke out, his orchestra was one of the most popular in England, both on the BBC and in live performances.

When Dave Schmitt and Kyle Even formed Breathe Carolina in 2007 they didn't anticipate that their project started "just for fun" would explode into an internationally sought-after band in just two short years. But like all the best, most exciting new bands, Breathe Carolinas unprecedented story began with a fan-base that grew organically, fueled by an enviable, rapidly spreading word-of-mouth, and the undeniable spark of something unique. The story of Breathe Carolina is a modern day music fairytale of two friends who recorded tracks on GarageBand at home in Denver, CO, put them on to MySpace and rapidly gained a huge online following that transformed their hobby into a career, and them into stars. We got started just by hanging out, reflects Kyle. We just sat in a room and threw ideas back and forth, and had to take trips to the library to talk to people online because we didn't have internet at our house.
