Organic Farmers Sue Monsanto
Nearly 300000 organic farmers are filing suit against corporate agriculture giant Monsanto, who have in recent years squashed independent organic farms from coast to coast. 270000 organic farmers filed a lawsuit in March 30 in an attempt to keep a portion of the world's food supply organic. The plaintiffs in the case are members of around 60 family farms, seed businesses and organic agricultural organizations. Led by the Organic Seed Growers and Trade Association, the suit lashes out at Monsanto to keep their engineered Genuity® Roundup Ready® canola seed out of their farms. Organic agriculturalists say that corn, cotton, sugar beets and other crops of theirs have been contaminated by Monsanto's seed, and even though the contamination has been largely natural and unintended, Monsanto has been suing hundreds of farmers for infringing on their patent for incidentally using their product. Not only are organic farmers trying to keep things — well, organic — but now many of them are being forced to throw in the towel as Monsanto unfortunately continues a successful war on the competition by suing indie growers that run organic farms. Now, a new study says ancient Amazonian farming methods could offer valuable lessons for today. The study looks at the pre-Columbian period. Christopher Columbus and other European explorers began arriving in the Americas in the late fourteen hundreds. The researchers studied a coastal wetland area where ancient farm beds and canals remain unchanged. The site is in French Guyana. A widely held belief is that pre-Columbian farmers used a great deal of fire to manage Amazonian ecosystems. But the scientists say their study calls this idea into question. It shows that raised-field farmers limited their burning to improve agricultural production.Jose Iriarte from the University of Exeter in England was lead author of the study. Mr. Iriarte says fire results in the loss of important nutrients for crops. This guide is mostly for high levels who have done kiln at least once and are somewhat familiar with it. Some of the safespots and strategies may be helpful for people going for their first tokhaar-kal. Check out my basic kiln guide here if you're doing it for your first time or just want a slower and safer method: www.youtube.com Requirements/Strongly recommended (in order of importance): 1:18 -Steel Titan -Overloads -Storm of Armadyl -Chaotics -Enhanced Excalibur -Augury/Rigour -Dreadnips Sample Inventories: 00:28 Maxed Everything - puu.sh Cheap and Good - puu.sh Notes about gear: -People stress about gear too much. Nex gear isn't significantly faster than gano + barrows, it just helps prevent you from dying if you miss a prayer switch. -Definitely bring either a slayer helm (e) or a neitiznot helm (e) charged with steel titan scrolls for some extra scroll casts. -Bringing an onyx ring switch is optional.. only worth doing if you don't have much tokkul to charge the ring. Definitely use tokkul-zo on jads and on the final boss. -If you don't have much experience with kiln then replace most of the summoning potions with brews and replace the ppots with super restores incase you need to restore stats after brewing down. Also bring 2 extra doses of overload so you don't risk running out. -I like using a zammy book because it helps all combat styles and has great prayer bonus.
