HOW TO: APPLY EYESHADOW - SUPER SIMPLE MISTAKE PROOF!
This is one of the oldest eyeshadow techniques but still the best (in my opinion). This technique allows you to extend your eyeshadow out - without fear - and blend to a completely natural or dramatic look as you want. This is also a great way to apply eyeshadow to mature eyes - and wonderful for hood and almond/asian eyes as it defines them without screaming "i've tried to draw in a crease". A little bit of loose face powder will let you blend blend blend the edges without ruining your work. Its a little secret that very few people know of. Red Eye Shadow - Editorial/Runway Inspired
Watch this video on my site www.lisae.me.uk for product links, tips and more info. Red eye shadow has been seen on the runway a lot over the past few seasons, most notably at Thakoon A/W 2011 and Miu Miu S/S 2012. I personally feel it looks more modern when you colour block it as a single shade. Blending it with other shades or trying to make it subtle and wearable feels like a total misnomer and slightly misses the point. Whenever I use red on the eyes for editorial I love it best as a bold, clean statement. One could probably make any shade of red work with the right application and make-up on the rest of the face however, as much as I don't really like make-up 'rules', I do feel that for the novice red eye shadow wearer there are certain shades that work best on different skin tones. QUICK MAKEUP TIP - MISTAKE PROOF EYESHADOW!
Many years ago bringing the eyeshadow up onto the crease was a technique that was mainly used by makeup artists. Now its something that most women do. The trouble with crease work is that sometimes it becomes difficult to know how far to bring the eyeshadow out. Often we can create a shape that is unflattering to the eye - ie - pulling the eyeshadow "down" making the eye look "droopy" not a good look. This simple technique gives you a guideline so that you know not to bring the eyeshadow out or dan any further than the line we "created" with loose powder. This video will show you a quick & easy way to fix your broken / cracked eyeshadows and make them as good as new! :) This technique unfortunately does NOT work for mineral eyeshadows. Materials needed: - Your broken eyeshadow! - A clean stick or pen cap to break up the shadow - Rubbing alcohol - Clean tissue or fabric - Eyedropper (optional) Be careful when handling rubbing alcohol. Easy Purple Smokey eyeshadow Tutorial!!!
Quick tutorial this time around! I've been experimenting with my BFTE samples that I got so be expecting quite a few vids using these!! I'll be sure to do a review once I get familiar with my favs. anyway... I used: NYX Milk & Black Bean jumbo eyeshadow pencil. I used this more as a temp. base because they crease like CRAZY. If I had been wearing this for a longer period of time I would have used MAC's Beige-ing shadestick & blacktrack fluidline as a black base. How to Depot Your Eyeshadows
In this video I show you how you can depot eyeshadows from a few different brands. I hope this will help you figure out how to depot products from different brands. Depotting your eyeshadows can save you space and time (you won't have to open and shut so many cases). I recommend Unii palettes for personal use as they are perfect for travel and on-the-go situations. They can fit in a purse, come with a big mirror (I use it pretty often to see what I'm doing for tutorials!) , and you can even stick an eyeshadow brush or an eye pencil in them. Pretty cool.
