1/5 Explore The Bermuda Triangle

The Bermuda Triangle, also known as the Devil's Triangle, is a region of the northwestern Atlantic Ocean in which a number of aircraft and surface vessels have disappeared. Some people have claimed that these disappearances fall beyond the boundaries of human error or acts of nature. Some of these disappearances have been attributed to the paranormal, a suspension of the laws of physics, or activity by extraterrestrial beings by popular culture. Though a substantial documentation exists showing numerous incidents to have been inaccurately reported or embellished by later authors, and numerous official agencies have gone on record as stating the number and nature of disappearances to be similar to any other area of ocean, many have remained unexplained despite considerable investigation.

Apart from the Sun, the largest members of the Solar System are the eight major planets. Nearest the Sun are four fairly small, rocky planets - Mercury, Venus, Earth and Mars. Beyond Mars is the asteroid belt -- a region populated by millions of rocky objects. These are left-overs from the formation of the planets, 4.5 billion years ago. On the far side of the asteroid belt are the four gas giants - Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune. These planets are much bigger than Earth, but very lightweight for their size. They are mostly made of hydrogen and helium. Until recently, the furthest known planet was an icy world called Pluto. However, Pluto is dwarfed by Earth's Moon and many astronomers think it is too small to be called a true planet. An object named Eris ...

Why Explore Other Planets ?

# Copyright ESA # Description There are many reasons to explore the other planets and the smaller bodies in our Solar system. Studying these may actually give us answers on questions about the history of our own Earth. Whereas stars other than the Sun are too far away to reach them, man-made space probes can travel throughout our solar system. This video outlines the main historic missions to other planets and provides a pre-view of ESA's Rosetta and Smart-1 missions.

ANTARCTICA MYSTERY! - No Contact from Scientists Trying to Explore Ancient Lake Under Ice - Report

Lake Vostok is a lake in Antarctica trapped miles below the surface of the ice, which hasn't been exposed to the surface atmosphere for over 20 Million years (by some reports). A team of Russian scientists had been attempting to explore and investigate this lake by drilling into the ice to reach Lake Vostok which is over 13000 feet below the surface. They had been in contact with other teams in Antarctica while doing this work. Unfortunately, as I believe they were nearing breaking through to the trapped ancient Lake Vostok, it appears the Russian Team is no longer communicating as they were before. What happened to the Russian Team? Are they ok? What is in Lake Vostok? Do you think the Russian team was able to break through to Lake Vostok & if so, what did they find? We hope the Russian Team will make it back safely and are very interested to find out how this mystery ends & what they may have found in Lake Vostok if they were successful at reaching the Lake. www.foxnews.com www.couriermail.com.au *** Photo Credit: This photo is courtesy of NASA and is in the public domain. Is the Universe Infinite?

Explore the biggest question of all... in 1080p. How far do the stars stretch out into space? And what's beyond them? In modern times, we built giant telescopes that have allowed us to cast our gaze deep into the universe. Astronomers have been able to look back to near the time of its birth. They've reconstructed the course of cosmic history in astonishing detail. From intensive computer modeling, and myriad close observations, they've uncovered important clues to its ongoing evolution. Many now conclude that what we can see, the stars and galaxies that stretch out to the limits of our vision, represent only a small fraction of all there is. Does the universe go on forever? Where do we fit within it? And how would the great thinkers have wrapped their brains around the far-out ideas on today's cutting edge? For those who find infinity hard to grasp, even troubling, you're not alone. It's a concept that has long tormented even the best minds. Over two thousand years ago, the Greek mathematician Pythagoras and his followers saw numerical relationships as the key to understanding the world around them. But in their investigation of geometric shapes, they discovered that some important ratios could not be expressed in simple numbers. Take the circumference of a circle to its diameter, called Pi. Computer scientists recently calculated Pi to 5 trillion digits, confirming what the Greeks learned: there are no repeating patterns and no ending in sight. The discovery of the so ...
