(With Narration and Annotations) www.youtube.com - Tips on ultra long distance flights. Emirates Airbus 380 In-flight Economy experience. Dubai to New York JFK on Emirates. My 20 Tips on Flying an Airbus A380 (in no particular order) #1 Book early and go online and select your seat. Keep in mind that you cannot lean your head against windows (and sleep). #2 Carry an empty plastic bottle and ask the crew to fill it up with water. To land fresh you must drink a lot of water and the small glasses that serve you are not enough and you'll end up pissing the crew off by constantly asking for water. Ideally start hydrating a week before your trip! #3 As you plan your trip, start working out or walking 30 mins a day... in other words, the fitter you are the less of a strain upon arrival. #4 Remember, you are going to have a long line at the Immigration counters with over 450 passengers on this plane. And add to the number of bags that you'll find on the belt, its going to take some time to get out - so if you have connecting flights make sure its at least 3-5 hours in hand to catch that flight. #5 Always ask for special meals. Those meals come first and you will be done before the folks next to you get their food. You wont be jousting elbows over that piece of respective chicken. Plus, the food is piping hot. #6 If its a all day flight, try get a little nap but if its an overnight flight, try getting sleep by popping a pill. Maybe a over the counter sleeping aid. #7 Dont drink ...

Saturday 21st January 2012 was a blustery day at Glasgow Airport with a strong crosswind. We'd assembled to catch the final batch of transiting Moroccan Texans leaving for Bordeaux in France. The only other movement worthy of our attention was the 11:44 EK27 flight from Dubai. Little did we know the last minute drama that was about to unfold as the giant jumbo turned the power on following a dose of windshear and performed a "go around", landing safely at the second attempt..

A new cable car system being built across the River Thames in London will be sponsored by Emirates Airline. The cable car system, running between Greenwich Peninsula and Royal Victoria, will be known as the Emirates Air Line. Scheduled for completion in summer 2012, the Emirates Air Line will offer commuters and visitors to London aerial views of the city as they travel across the Thames between the Greenwich Peninsula and the Royal Victoria Docks.

Boeing and more than 5000 employees, suppliers, customers and government officials celebrated the 1000th 777 at a special event on Friday. The 1000th 777 jetliner will be delivered to Dubai-based Emirates later this month. "As the largest 777 customer, it's very appropriate that Emirates is the recipient of our milestone 1000th 777," said Jim Albaugh, president and CEO of Boeing Commercial Airplanes. "Emirates has set an industry high bar in providing excellent customer service and we're honored that the 777 is central to its efforts to be a global airline leader." Last year was the best year on record for 777 sales with 200 orders from 22 customers -- topping the previous record of 154 set in 2005. Production is at an all-time high for the programme and a 20 percent rate increase begins this fall, increasing from seven to 8.3 airplanes per month. The programme will begin building 100 airplanes per year beginning in 2013. "The ultimate measure of success in this business is when you reach the 1000 mark," said Larry Loftis, who until recently was vice president and general manager of the 777 programme. "Reaching this milestone puts the 777 in an exclusive club and I would like to thank all our employees, suppliers and customers who made it possible." ABOUT THIS VIDEO An Emirates Boeing 777-300ER lands on runway 23R at Manchester Airport stopping in a very short distance. This stands out as a fast landing/stop for the following reasons: a) The aircraft touches down quite far up the runway. b) All wheels touch down even later. c) Reverse thrusters open even later. d) The aircraft is still able to vacate the runway sooner than is usual for an aircraft of this size. They usually exit further up having touched down and activated reverse thrust much earlier. Emirates A380 First Class Suites, HD Experience
An experience on Emirates First Class Suites between Bangkok and Hong Kong - including views of the Emirates Lounge at BKK. The first class cabin on this flight was virtually empty, only 5 of 16 suites occupied. Business Class was not even full. I could not get a good view out of the window, and it was very bumpy coming through the clouds with the descent into Hong Kong (sorry for a few shaky moments there). Recorded May 3, 2012.

EMIRATES IT HOME | DXB-ZRH | BOEING 777-300ER
Flight from Dubai to Zurich on Emirates Airlines Boeing 777-300ER. Flight duration was about 6 hours and altitude about 38'000 feet. Due to some unknown reason the plane was almost empty with a payload of only 20-30% (estimated). Less passengers means better service with Emirates. Both food choices were still available and I had a lot of privacy and space. If this was an ultra long haul flight I would have slept in the middle for a while ;) Please don't hesitate to ask for further information and enjoy!
