Queen Elizabeth Class Aircraft Carrier
in 2008 the United Kingdoms MoD confirmed plans for a "next generation" Air Craft Carrier to act as the capital ships of the Royal Navy for atleast the next 40 years. The class of two 65000 Tonne ships will be the largest warships ever operated by the Royal Navy (a record previously held by the 55000 tonne battlecruiser HMS Vanguard) The largest warships ever built in Europe, The first Super Carriers to be built outside the USA and will be the third largest warships ever built (behind the USA's 100000 tonne NIMITZ class & Japans 70000 tonne Shinano) They will operate 40 Air Craft on light load with the capacity for 60, The Carrier Group will consist of 36 F-35B Lightning II strike fighters and either 4 Merlin/Lynx Helicopters or 4 V-22 Osprey aircraft. Initially the Queen Elizabeth Class Carriers will operate STOVL air craft however the F-35B Lightning II strike fighters only have a planned service life of 20 years at which point they will be replaced with fixed wing air craft. The ships will have a crew of 1200; approximately 600 ships company and 600 air crew and will have the capacity for an embarked force consisting of around 600 Royal Marines. The ships will have S1850M long range radar for wide area search and will have a innovative "two island" design allowing more spacious control rooms for both the air control and ship control. They will have the option to operate 8x Goal Keeper CIWS close in defence machine guns and in the future may be fitted with Aster anti ...

The United States Navy and the Royal Navy of the United Kingdom are the two most powerful Naval Forces in the world, they are both continuously deployed around the world, taking both leading and supporting roles in global naval activities. Air Craft Carriers are considered the "Capital Ships" of the modern navy and are the most powerful components of any force, Both the United Kingdom and the United States have had a long history of naval aviation and that continues to this day. This is the first part in a series of videos comparing the 21st century navys of the United States of America and the United Kingdom. This video is a detailed comparison between the future Air Craft Carriers of the United Kingdoms Royal Navy and the United States Navy. In this video several factors will be compared including, Air Wing size and make up, size, propulsion, cost and design. In terms of copyright on all this I'm relying on the vanity and ego of those who have outstanding qualities and great ability. In this case I'm referring to the voice and remarkable physical beauty of Amy Acker. And the wordsmithery of Joss Whedon. I know that technically the episodes all have other accredited writers. Yet I highly doubt they wrote much of the Illyria dialog. In fact given the quality I'd say that almost all of it was crafted by Joss himself. And of course there is another thing, the character. Illyria as a character is both ability and ego personified. In truth when one is extraordinarily talented, when they know that there are a precious few that could ever hope to be prevail against them should their talents be put to contest, such individuals cannot help but have an elevated ego. Only someone as able and confident in his talents as Joss could be able to convey what it is to be a person like Illyria; a being of unimaginable power and ability and to my mind no one could portray that power but someone with such a pure and obvious beauty as Amy Acker. In this I use not just her image but her voice, and show something beyond her naturally appointed gifts, the great annunciation ability, the talent hidden beneath and overshadowed by the sublime face.
