The long-awaited and previously not uploaded studio version of my favorite track from Youngblood Brass Band, "Is an Elegy", with lyrics. The speed of the text's fly-by might be annoying, but I had no video editing software at hand so i used an online one, Jay Cut, at www.jaycut.com, which is basic, to say the least, but give it a try. Also, I'm sorry for any inconsistency between my lyrics and the actual lyrics, I made this in a rush:) In my opinion, this is the song with the most beautiful lyrics in the world :d I am not claiming ownership or copyright over the track, its lyrics or even this little video. Igor Stravinsky, Elegy for solo viola (1944) Played flawlessly by Miles Hoffman. (His channel is MilesHoffmanViola) This short 5-minute work remains to be Stravinsky's only contribution to viola literature. It has been said that world renowned violist William Primrose once proposed commissioning a viola concerto from Stravinsky, but Stravinsky was not interested in the project, so he went to Bartok instead who did agree to the offer. The Elegy was commissioned by Germain Prevost to honor the memory of Alphonse Onnou (1893-1940). Prevost, who was an extremely sentimental man, not only commissioned Stravinsky for this work, but also his friend Darius Milhaud, who wrote three works for viola and piano in memory of Onnou as well. Undoubtedly in the war torn year of 1944, in which this work was composed, there were many victims worthy of this somber token of remembrance. Thank you for 45000 views!

SummerFest 2006: Tan Dun's Elegy: Snow In June
Tan Dun's powerful score for cellist and four percussionists commemorates the 1989 massacre in Beijing's Tiananmen Square. The title refers to the 13th-century Chinese drama by Kuan Han-Ching, in which a young woman, Dou Eh, is executed for crimes she did not commit. Even nature cries out for Dou Eh's innocence: her blood does not fall to earth, but flies upward, and a heavy snow falls in June. Likewise Tan Dun's music sings of pity and purity, beauty and darkness. As choreographed by Allyson Green, this striking dance/theatre work is a lament for victims everywhere.
