Carbon monoxide poisoning can cause brain damage and death. You can't see it, smell it, or taste it; but carbon monoxide can kill you. Carbon monoxide is the leading cause of accidental poisoning deaths in America. This odorless, tasteless, and colorless gas is known as the "Silent Killer." The Centers for Disease Control estimates that carbon monoxide poisoning claims nearly 500 lives, and causes more than 15000 visits to hospital emergency departments annually. Carbon monoxide is produced by common household appliances. When not properly ventilated, carbon monoxide emitted by these appliances can build up. Early symptoms of carbon monoxide poisoning such as headaches, nausea, and fatigue, are often mistaken for the flu because the deadly gas goes undetected in a home. Prolonged exposure can lead to brain damage and even death. Carbon monoxide is formed when organic compounds burn. The most common sources are motor vehicle exhaust, smoke from fires, engine fumes, and nonelectric heaters. Carbon monoxide poisoning is often associated with malfunctioning or obstructed exhaust systems and with suicide attempts. "The Solar System - Explore your backyard" is a highly immersive application that illustrates rather well the vastness of the world around us. Information regarding planets, constellations and countries are available at the click of a button, and in a fashion rarely seen. Rather than simply telling you the facts, I find that it's easier to show you; This means that instead of just reading about the gravitational pull or cross section of a planet, you get to view it in 3D in real time. This video is a quick fly-through, showing the different features available. Everything you see is 'In game'. As i said before this is just a work in progress so far, however there is a readout at the bottom of the screen. In the video when zooming in and out, you can see at the bottom of the screen the scales of the planets, moons and sun. There are options regarding scale and I'll go through them in a later video, but just know that everything IS to scale, it is simply enlarged to make it much easier to see, otherwise you'd only see the planet when you're completely zoomed in. However, if that's what you want, the option exists to make it that as well.
