Shock CCTV: Turkey earthquake tremor & blackout caught on camera
CCTV cameras in the Turkish city of Van have captured dramatic video footage of the moment Wednesday's 5.7-magnitude earthquake struck. Security footage from violently shaking cameras showed people running out of buildings, lights going out and thick clouds of smoke enveloping streets in the provincial capital. The quake - which struck in the same Turkish province that was hit by a deadly temblor last month - has killed at least 10 people, including a Japanese aid worker. Indonesia earthquake: Tsunami warning triggers panic
A tsunami watch has been lifted for the Indian ocean, just hours after two major earthquakes struck Indonesia. The first was an 8.6-magnitude quake, that struck off the western coast of Aceh. Later an aftershock in Sumatra sent residents scrambling to get to safety. Al Jazeera's Aela Callan reports from Bangkok.

Strong Earthquake Hits North Italy (5/19/2012)
A strong earthquake rocked a large swathe of northern Italy early on Sunday, causing at least three deaths and bringing about the collapse of rural factories and ancient bell towers in towns. The epicenter of the quake, which struck at 4:04 am (0204 GMT) and had a magnitude of 6.0, was in the plains near Modena in the Po River Valley and the tremors were felt in nearby regions. It was the strongest quake to hit Italy in three years. One person working a night shift died in the collapse of a factory and two were killed when a modern ceramics factory made of steel crumpled. Rescue officials were checking reports that other people were buried under rubble. There was serious damage to historic buildings such as the 14th century Estense Castle in the town of San Felice Sul Panaro, near the epicentre. There were fears that one of the towers of the famous mediaeval castle, the town's biggest attraction, could collapse. The town's main church was also severely damaged. Thousands of people living in the area rushed into the streets after the quake, which shook the major towns of Bologna, Modena, Ferrara, Rovigo, Verona and Mantua. No serious damage was reported in the larger, heavily populated towns and cities. A series of strong aftershocks hit the area, the strongest measuring 5.1, and local mayors ordered residents to stay out of their homes. Reports of a censored earthquake came to me today -- from a few different viewers who saw the USGS knock a Virginia / West Virginia earthquake off the map. With a little sleuth work , and some LUCK that the other feed wasn't yet censored -- I was able to track down the approximate epicenter of this quake based upon the helicorder signatures at each ANSS backbone station. Mexico Earthquake Of 7.6 Magnitude
Security footage of a Mexican earthquake creating some intense waves in a beach resorts pool. A powerful magnitude-7.6 earthquake shook Mexico's Guerrero state on Tuesday not far from Acapulco, a major tourist destination. The quake was followed by a powerful aftershock. The temblor, which hit around noon local time, was felt throughout central southern Mexico, according to the US Geological Survey website. There were no immediate reports of major damage or injuries. However, telephone service was spotty throughout the area. The epicentre of the quake was located 186 kilometres from Acapulco. The National Seismological Survey in Mexico said the quake had an epicentre southwest of Ometepec and occurred 10 kilometres underground. Frightened workers spilled out of swaying buildings in Mexico City.

The US Geological Survey says the magnitude-6.1 earthquake hit early Thursday and was centered about 66 miles northeast of Hachinohe at a depth of 25 miles. Japan's Kyodo News agency says the quake shook Aomori prefecture (state) and other areas of northeastern Japan, but no abnormalities were reported at nearby nuclear power plants. No tsunami warning was issued. A massive magnitude-9.0 earthquake and tsunami ravaged Japan's northeastern coastline in March last year, leaving some 19000 people dead or missing and badly damaging the Fukushima Dai-ichi nuclear plant. Strong characteristics of this feature indicate a possible 7 Magnitude earthquake in one of these locations during this watch period: Costa Rica, Panama, Sudan, Ethiopia, Nicobar Islands or Northern Sumatra. Time frame May 9-11 Coronal feature situated (44-49°S Latitude) could produce a possible 5.5-5.8 Magnitude earthquake during May 5-6.
