Steve Earle: NPR Music Tiny Desk Concert
Steve Earle has lived through the sort of horrors that have launched a million country songs: addiction, affliction, heartbreak, even prison. He wears them in his voice, but what's most appealing about him is the wide-eyed, unmistakable fearlessness with which he goes about his life these days. The singer, author, actor and activist showcases many of his talents at the NPR Music offices. Set List: "Waitin' On The Sky" "Every Part Of Me" "This City" For more videos, visit npr.org/tinydeskconcerts
Steve Earle & Lucia Micarelli - One More Cup of Coffee (Valley Below)
Steve Earle - guitar, vocal Lucia Micarelli - violin Steve Earle & Lucia Micarelli -- One More Cup of Coffee (Valley Below) - Bob Dylan cover Your breath is sweet Your eyes are like two jewels in the sky Your back is straight, your hair is smooth On the pillow where you lie But I don't sense affection No gratitude or love Your loyalty is not to me But to the stars above One more cup of coffee for the road One more cup of coffee 'fore I go To the valley below Your daddy, he's an outlaw And a wanderer by trade He'll teach you how to pick and choose And how to throw the blade He oversees his kingdom So no stranger does intrude His voice, it trembles as he calls out For another plate of food One more cup of coffee for the road One more cup of coffee 'fore I go To the valley below Your sister sees the future Like your mama and yourself You've never learned to read or write There's no books upon your shelf And your pleasure knows no limits Your voice is like a meadowlark But your heart is like an ocean Mysterious and dark One more cup of coffee for the road One more cup of coffee 'fore I go To the valley below

Steve Earle - The Galway Girl
Steve Earle - The Galway Girl .. DISCLAIMER: NO COPYRIGHT BY ME! NO COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT INTENDED! I DO NOT OWN THIS TRACK!!!! LYRICS: Well, I took a stroll on the old long walk Of a day -I-ay-I-ay I met a little girl and we stopped to talk Of a fine soft day -I-ay-I-ay And I ask you, friend, what's a fella to do 'Cause her hair was black and her eyes were blue And I knew right then I'd be takin' a whirl 'Round the Salthill Prom with a Galway girl We were halfway there when the rain came down Of a day -I-ay-I-ay And she asked me up to her flat downtown Of a fine soft day -I-ay-I-ay And I ask you, friend, what's a fella to do 'Cause her hair was black and her eyes were blue So I took her hand and I gave her a twirl And I lost my heart to a Galway girl When I woke up I was all alone With a broken heart and a ticket home And I ask you now, tell me what would you do If her hair was black and her eyes were blue I've traveled around I've been all over this world Boys I ain't never seen nothin' like a Galway girl

KXT Live Sessions - Justin Townes Earle, "Harlem River Blues"
"Harlem River Blues" Justin Townes Earle, son of musician Steve Earle and the namesake of Townes Van Zandt, is no stranger to the troubled times he sings about in his songs. The singer-songwriter struggled with drug addiction most of his life, but ultimately kicked the habit and put his life back in order. His blend of folk, blues, and country has an old-fashioned feel to it. He released his third album, "Harlem River Blues", earlier this year and stopped by the KXT studios to play a few songs during the KXT Afternoon Show.
